Great work. I love that you went for every little detail including the scuff marks on the epaulettes. I think that the attention to detail many people have is what makes this community great. |

A very impressive build - easily one of the best Obi Wan's out there. Well done, mate.
We gotta get a group Obi Wan shot one of these days with you, me and Jeadus Teal. Let me know if you're heading Brisbane way. _________________

Hi Ben. Thanks very much
Thanks Alpha, nice of you to say mate
Haha , I'm actually writing this in Brisbane right now !
Just a quick visit this time but we will definitely organise an Obi shoot with all of us together.
Still trying to find a moment to get the straight approval shots taken so I can submit the costume for consideration. Life is busy ....phewww ! _________________

Hi guys.
I have been off the boards for a month or so but have finally taken some basic pics for submission of this costume ( the non photo shopped front, left, right, back type shots ).
Just one question for the LCJ's however. Is a photo like this one below considered ok for the "action" shot to use in the frame or are there also restrictions on what to submit ? For example, does it need to be full length or is just a bust shot ok? Darker night type shot ok for use against an official background or do you need a fully lit photo.
Also, the submission batch of photos was just taken with a phone camera. Is that acceptable ?
Thanks very much. _________________

Good to see you back Shay!
The action shot looks good to me, but I'll get a member of the Photoshop team to take a look
Your app pics, can you post them up or you can pm me the links to them if you want me to take a look. They need to be as high res as possible, well lit and showing all the costume detail. If they're taken in a low light/low res we can't always see everything clearly.
A good guide is to use the costume standard as a checklist for your photos, if you can see everything clearly in the standard on the photos then you should be good!
EDIT - Heard from the PS team, ideally if you could take a new one in normal lighting with a bit more body showing. _________________ Rebel Legion - LXO

Hi Sarah, thanks very much for getting back to me.
No problem with the taking of a new pic. I have quite a lot in normal lighting showing more body that we took on the day but I just wanted something a bit different and wondered if it would be acceptable. I wanted the dimmer light to show off the saber and comm pad a little better and thought it might prove a more interesting frame but if they don't have a background that would suit the photo, I can send another.
Thanks again for the help _________________

WOO HOO!
The General is approved
A big thank you to Alan and Sarah and to all the other LCJ's that were part of the approval.
You have all been extremely supportive throughout the process and it was very appreciated
Thanks Guys.

Congratulations Shay!
A fantastic costume and your WIP is a great resource for a costume build. We'll be moving this to the Jedi Tutorials section with a link back to this forum!
Thankyou for sharing your build with us, this is a great example and will be very useful for members looking to make this costume!

I hope they keep the re runs going for a while yet so we maintain our fan base of younglins that love these characters.

Cobalt - 60. - I always enjoy your comments in other threads. You do a great job of assessing costumes and passing on advice to members, helping many. You are obviously meticulous with your own builds so I am very humbled by your nice words. Thanks mate _________________

This is such an exceptional WIP, that we decided to move it to the Jedi Tutorial forums. A shadow remains in the OWK forums so that it can be easily found, when needed.
I'll be making my own version of this costume in the near future. Thanks Shay for sharing!!! _________________ Past Offices held within the Rebel Legion: LMO, Asst. LMO, Legion Costume Judge, DCO and DXO KJO, BCO and BXO Tranquility Base
