Hi all, (I really hope this is the right place) I am working on getting my main costume done so I can apply for Alpha Base in the Rebel Legion. So any feedback would be a great help.

My main costume I'm wanting to do is my Twi'lek Jedi from the Old Republic. I just ordered my belt it should be here in two weeks, I hope it will be here faster.

As for my lekku I have to order those here soon as well. Funding pending.

I'm going to be doing a double bladed silver and gold saber with purple blades, I have half of that saber but need to order the second half and the coupler here soon as well, again funding pending.

Over all I hope to be done with this and ready to apply come mid April.

I am going to go look for a long sleeve black/ dark brown turtle neck tomorrow.

Anyway photos.... (btw the brown around the obi is just a place holder for my belt, which is black)

I know I need to redo the front piece, I figured that out tonight when I was taking pictures. So, that will be ripped apart and redone here this week.

This is without my long back skirt...

This is with my long back skirt....

This is with my robe. My robe is shorter because I have a habit of steeping on my hem with I duel. I plan on making another longer robe for those times I don't need to duel and just need to look pretty.

Here is what the back of my battle robe looks like (again modeled for the Old Republic)

Here is the art for the Twi'lek Jedi...again she is from the Old Republic.

Hello and welcome!
Looks like awesome progress so far.
Check out the Jedi section of the forums as well, they can help you with the more minute details.

~UPDATE~

My belt came in the mail today. WOO I need to do some adjusting to it before I submit because the thin belt in the middle of the wider belt isn't fastened on the buckle sides for some reason. So a little super glue should fix that right up.

Over all I think I'm ready to submit.

With standard robe....

Thanks, I hope I'll get in. The lady that cut my hair messed it up so its like 2-3 inches shorter than I wanted so I look like I have a fat neck and head when wearing a turtle neck. :\

I have two costumes I am working on. A Rebel Officer and Visas Marr.

I have the Greeblie for the Rebel officer, fabric, gloves and boots. Need the blue air force shirt. And while they don't have them normally, and their maybe a photo of an officer wearing one at the mission briefing, I plan to also get the Endor commando helmet. I have wanted one since I was a kid.

Next Visas MArr I have everything for but the saber, see through vale fabric and the redder belt fabric. I need to repair the stencil a bit, as it has gotten knocked a around a bit though. I should have the saber empty by the end of month, and I'll get a red, blue, amber led from Nagion. Very Happy

Finally starting my DS Duel Luke!!
I will eventually add the other components for RoTJ Luke outfits.
Have following patterns to start my mock ups:
Pants: Vogue 2730, Riding seam!!
Shirt: McCalls 9579, Mandaring collar version
(Still trying to formulate the bib)

Have a lightsaber w/blade, tho may look for hilt alone to hang on belt.
Looking for belt still...

Will start WIP under the Jedi forum...
Lots of questions!!
Who is our Jedi/Luke judge? Hoping for their input...
Also, have to update my Photobucket- that still the best way to post photos?

Hey Marlene!

I think there are several judges for that costume. Posting in the Jedi forum is probably the best way to get good feedback from them.

My roommate Lida is also working on that costume (among other things: generic Jedi, Imperial Officer, Imperial Crew). Since we all live in Bellingham we should get together and have a build party some time!

So, I know I only just got my first costume approved this week, but since i submitted two at the same time, I am one my second right now: Yavin IV Celebration Leia.

The first round of judging feedback was mostly positive, with the only fixes being to the belt and wig. The belt fixes are easy enough: make the front pentagonal plate wider, and fix the plates so they can't rotate. I was considering remaking all the plates out of aluminum anyway, and replacing my rivets when I did that, so that's no problem.

The wig fixes, however, are less simple. Namely, I need to reduce the color variation within the wig, make the bun larger, and make the back braid longer. I THINK the color thing can be fixed with tea-dying, which is what I am attempting right now, and the bun can definitely be enlarged by braiding around a pad or rat. The length, though, is where I'm having some problems. I thought I had a weft of darker brown hair leftover from another wig I was altering, which could be braided in to lengthen that, but I can't find it anywhere, so I have to assume it has been lost to time. And ordering extra wefts from either my usual wig supplier (wigisfashion) or from Arda isn't really an option, since I only have two weeks to revise, and neither can ship me new wefts in time.

So, I am wondering: does anyone know of a good source for either extra wig wefts or brown braiding hair in the greater Seattle area? Preferably ones that are heat-treatable? Non-heat-treatable would also work in a pinch.
