I will be working on final updates today....I have been busy with work and real life.....and now I am coming down with the flu and may not get to attend myself.
NOOOOOOO!!! We will have to get Zoa to plastic wrap your room and quarantine you off and pump you full of meds!!!
Should Cameron and I look for alternative boarding if the house is under quarantine? _________________ "Why, you stuck up,..half-witted,..scruffy-looking,..nerf-herder!"..."Who's scruffy-looking?"

Well everyone....I have been hospitalized for my illness and am still very sick at home.....tried to see if I could get well enough to push through, but my fever keeps coming an going.....and like Michel....feel like I have been run over by a Mack truck 30-40 times. Can't risk getting worse or passing this on to others at such a big event.
I am really disappointed I have to miss this....especially after all the work I have done coordinating and preparing the RL for it. Have a GREAT troop everyone!!!
Rick - Really hope you feel better and thank you for all that you've done to help this event be so successful!! It was a blast, Here are some pics to help ya feel like you were there

It was a GREAT event. The photo op traffic I think was the best yet Lori kept things rolling very well. Joel did a great job filling in for you Rick and thank you Rick for all of your hard work in prep! Every one there did a great job rotating around. Was a very well oiled machine this year! Next year is going to be even better and Phyllis is looking forward to it. _________________ "So this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause..."
It was very nice that everyone chipped in. It was a bit overwhelming seeing all of those people. I am glad all of you had fun.
I can't wait to plan for this next year. I might need to get a metal shelf to better display some of the items. Something to get after the new year. _________________ Brian S. Mah

For future events where we have a display table, I just wanted to encourage everyone to volunteer for a shift or two at the table. It's a great place to meet possible new recruits and talk to kids and parents about the RL, Freedom Base, and SW in general.
On Saturday I was only scheduled for a couple photo ops, and one shift at the table, but after my photo ops were done I stayed at the table until the end and got to meet a lot of people. There were several people that I spoke to that were interested in making a costume and joining. And lots and lots of kids asking all kinds of questions. One of the best questions I got was from a boy who, upon seeing my jedi costume, asked me about jedi training. I told him all I knew about it based on the movies, books, and comics. He seemed happy with the answer. How cool was that?!
Also, if you don't have a card made for your character, get one. The kids...and even some of the adults, loved the cards. There were several that made multiple trips to our table just to see if I put out any different cards...which I did a few times. My goal is to have a card made before next year's A&S.
Hey, guys, it was so wonderful to see you all albeit only briefly as we were so busy. Although I regret not being able to hang out with everyone, it was great to be a "real life Star Wars action figure" as one of the kids called me, and that's why we're there -- for the kids and to bring them into the museum so that maybe they'll learn a bit about aeronautics and space travel and have fun while doing so. I'm afraid I won't be able to work on my husband's photos until the weekend because I walked into craziness at my office today and it'll be a while before I can dig myself out of it, but I did want to at least give you a taste of what we have.
Actually, this photo is pretty much made of sheer awesomeness:
Many thanks to the members of Echo and Terrapin Bases and the Saber Guild, too!!!
Rick, I hope you're feeling better. We certainly missed you there!
BTW, folks, I want to apologize about the cookies. I didn't realize they had become a bit stale after being transported for over half a week. :-P I think next year my work conference will probably occur after A&S (instead of just prior) so I should be able to make them Thursday just before the event. _________________
