The photo below is from the new book "The Making of The Return of the Jedi".
The small poloroid continuity photos of the Pilots has the Y-Wing Pilot labeled as "grey pilot"
so...
smoking gun? _________________

That's good enough for me. It's hard to argue that production continuity photos are wrong. _________________

Yup, definitive. Grey it is, not tan. _________________ Jon Paulson • Cmdr. Tag "HazardThree" Greenly

I have to ask, is that the only picture of a B-wing pilot that the book has? I haven't had a chance to find the book yet so I haven't seen it.
And interesting, the Y-wing pilot does have the "belt box", I've been curious about that...
And judging by that picture, small as it may be, it looks like I've hit the B-wing pilot outfit spot on besides the width of my vest, which I've been meaning to take in, and the collar, which is an easy fix. Think I'll give myself a little pat on the back...
(Well, I need to take off a few pockets, too, but I've known that for a while...) _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley

I just picked the book up yesterday and have not gone through it completely yet....
I was actually looking for some decent photos of the Endor Troopers....
I do plan to actually read the book cover to cover...sometimes you find things out in the text rather than photos. _________________

Those are the only pictures of any of the pilots. I am pretty disappointed that that's all we got. The book is lacking overall in costume photos. _________________ James Norman

Agreed...
I went through the entire book more slowly this morning...just photos for now...
and
there are few photos of interest to us as costume people...
but there are LOTS of great behind the scenes stuff on the filming..
and concept art... _________________

Yeah, its still neat but I felt the other books had a lot more costume photos and this is the movie we have the most mysteries from it seems.
But hey at least we got one solved. _________________ James Norman

Ah, that sucks that there isn't any other pictures, I too was hoping there would be more in a back about the making of Return of the Jedi. I mean, that's the perfect book to have such pictures in... Where else could you put them?
But that doesn't really surprise me, either. I hoped there would be more but I figured there wouldn't. Honestly, I was surprised that there's even one picture in the book, I half expected all pilots except for X-wing pilots to get skipped over, other than maybe a brief mention in text or something. _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley

By the way, I don't assume you could post a larger picture of the B-wing pilot image...? _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley

The thing you have to understand is:
1) These were originally only Poloroid photos.
2) In the book they are a whopping 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" in size.....somewhat larger than a postage stamp...
so..
you ain't gonna see much..

If anyone can scan the image of the Y-Wing at the highest resolution setting there scanner allows, I may be able to enhance the image further with Photoshop. Since this is the only complete Y-Wing image I've seen that's not a screen-cap (and I've looked) I figured it might be worth a shot. _________________

Thanks. Actually, it does help with a couple points.
I'm not sure what that rectangular white strip thing is behind the top right of the chestbox... Never seen anything like that before. I'm just gonna have to assume that's a mistake on whoever dressed the mannequin.
...And boy, that is one creepy-looking mannequin! _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley
