Oh, almost forgot: I know you said you are using a foam noodle for under the chest box for that cylindrical piece, but I used two Vitamin Water bottles stuck together for mine and made a cloth sleeve. Seems to be about the right diameter. Debates abound about how it attaches to the box...... I just wrapped some webbing around the cylinder middle and attached that to the bottom of the box, so it just hangs there close to it. Another school of thought is to attach it directly to the knob-like greeblies on the bottom of the box.

Yes, i've been debating about using a strap around the center peice to hold all three together or rigging up some kind of permanent attachment or magnet rig to hold all three peices together.

Decisions, decisions!

I used the little magnet clasps made for purses to hold the belt to the harness at the belly level, plus one on the loose ends of the hose to attach to the lower backside of the vest. Going to use a couple more on the harness ends to keep them at knee level and not slide down too.... The big safety pins I initially had there don't like to stay intact with all the bending and pulling!

Question for my fellow pilots:

the costume requirements say that the hose should connect to the flight suit, but from comments and pictures i've seen it looks like most people reconnect to their vest.

Any thoughts on how i should procede? Anyone costume judges that can chime in?

EDIT: well i went with the CRL and had it attach to my flightsuit.

Looks very promising to me!

Nice job!

Will you weather the boxes after the colour coat?
That´s where I really had some fun - making everything dirty & used...

Click the "My Costumes" button on the top of the forum and follow the prompts. You'll need to provide a URL for images, so make sure you upload them to a hosting site (photobucket, for example).

Although I havent submitted my pictures for formal approval yet because i still want to fine tune a few things, I was able to unveil my A-Wing at Dragon*Con this weekend and the Rebels were kind enough to let me march in the parade with them instead of in one of my 501st uniforms.

Thanks to everyone that has offered help along the way!

Here are some pictures from the parade line-up!

Durge photobombing!

BJ Savage giving the camera his best arvel crynyd impression!

Only 3 non-x-wingers in the parade and we all looked great!!

Very nice looking A-Wing pilots!

By a quick view I don´t think that there will be a problem when submitting...

Again, good luck...
...and fly casual!
