This section is to point out additional holes in the belt other than the ones for the buckle.

This first series shows two holes between the "D" ring greeblie (behind the lightsaber hook on the left rear of the belt) and the long greeblie on the right rear portion of the belt (behind the pouch).

This first pic shows the "D" ring greeblie and one of the holes in the belt.

These next three show both of the holes:

These next three show at least one hole in the belt between the connectors for the banana pouch. The first two pics also seem to be indicating some depth to the pouch (maybe 1/2 to 1 inch in depth).

those holes could very well be from something that was removed from the base belt prior to filming. If the theory is true and the real belt was turned over for the costume belt, there could have been a decoration or even a pouch hooked up there, so that piece would have been hanging upside down.

Either way, punching holes is easy, with the d-rings for reference we will know exactly where they need to be.
