Thanks! The undersuit is too bulky, especially on top. I'm working on a design-accurate tunic which I hope will be finished tomorrow.

Well everyone, wish me luck--photos submitted for approval!

I decided to go with a "Generic" Imperial Knight named Ronin Kol instead of the face character.

If anyone's curious, I just got through a denial and appeal process. They accepted part of my appeal but not all. I need to re-paint as they feel that the shade of red is too dark, and I need to modify my tabards so they are all the same width.

Re-painting is going to break my heart--I disagree with that particular call and think the dark metallic red is perfect--but standards are standards and the costume judges have spoken. The tabards, I kind of agree with upon taking a second look. I tried something with the design that didn't really come out as perfect as I thought. But I've already rethought the design and it shouldn't be that big a deal to fix.

I expect to have modifications complete and the costume re-submitted within a week or so.

2 hours in the back yard and here's the repaint. A few areas I need to touch up still, but nothing major.

I'm heartbroken at losing the candy apple, but this color looks pretty darn good.

Next up: fixing my tabards. I expect to have these modifications done by Sunday evening and new pictures submitted by Monday or Tuesday.

Don't get me wrong, the red you had was saweeeet ! Beautiful red, but when you look at the comic images which is where this costume is predominantly based the red should not be like the Iron Man red despite how beautiful a color that may be Wink

(action figures are not a good reference source, Hasbro balls accuracy up all the time;)

The repaint looks great mate Smile

Thanks! Yeah, I can see several reasons why this red needs to be used. I do think there's a lot of reference for a darker one, but for the sake of uniformity with other IKs in the Legion AND given that this is the same color red used by the Imperial Crimson Guard (and previously by the Republic Red Guard), it makes sense from a lineage point of view. As you said, as gorgeous as the darker red looked, upon reflection it's the right call doing the repaint.

With two birthday celebrations this weekend (for my wife and for a good friend of ours) I didn't get a chance to complete the tabards. Planning to tackle that tonight. I have the four new side tabards cut; tonight I'll cut down the front tabards and replace the existing side ones with the new ones. Once they're set up, I just need to get new pictures in.

I had intended to have my resubmission photos in days ago, but my photographer keeps going, "I don't have time for this today; we'll do it tomorrow."

Sigh.
