Making a wookiee:

Step 1 - Make the wookiee
Step 2 - Get approved to legion
Step 3 - Have your picture taken with Peter Mayhew - SWEET!

Dude I love this. He was in El Paso last week, only about 30 minutes away from me but I didn't have my Tarfful finished. I will catch up with him one day. Hopefully sooner than later.

Ok so I am almost done with my head and I am having to hardest time trying to figure out how to put the dreadlocks on him. Is there a forum or tutorial anywhere how to put those on. I am having the hardest time figuring it out.

My mask was created by Ryan. He attached them to the fiberglass skull with rivets. I actually had two of them pull off, at different times, and all I had to do was re-rivet them back on. Basic wear an tear stuff. I added washers to each side of the rivet to make them more secure.

Small update without pics on my kit:
Originally, the waist part of the belt on my kit had a velcro to velcro closing system to keep the belt on. When I would bend over to take a pic with a kid, the velcro would come undone. I added 6" of length to the waist of the belt (this is where my real back side is BTW) to keep it from being too tight and then pop-riveted the belt to stay together always, so it won't come undone.

I also, took some screws, nuts and washers and put a screw through my shoulder pads, going through the wookiee shirt and up into the leather of the shoulder straps, underneath the armor. The weight of the armor made it easy to want to slip off of a shoulder when I moved around. Adding the screw, washer and nut, keeps the armor and straps in place, so I don't need a handler constantly fiddling about with my shoulder straps to keep them even.

Should make my photos much better. Less load shifting.
Here's some before pics:

In this one, the buckle isn't straight (my fixes addressed above fix this):

About to sing karaoke (Tequilla) at the Dallas Stars game:

I'm pretty sure I saw you at the Dallas Fan Days in the Blast-A-Trooper room. Kinda hard to miss! It was AMAZING!!! I got a pic of you staring down an Ewok if you want it. :-)

Thank you very much! Even the tallest of the tall, look short next to a 7'10" wookiee. Any time you enter a room, leave a room, walk onto a red carpet, etc., people gasp with a happy sound as they go for their cameras.

There's so many cool costumes at a convention, but the minute they see a wookiee, a proper one (not the Rubies extreme Chewie), it's like they are seeing their favorite childhood movie star.

Definitely a unique and fun experience (plus you can get on lifts where other costumers are forced to take stairs and escalators) !!!

A few more photos from FanDays - Comic Con - Dallas.
BTW - I will also be taking Tarfful to Wizard World Austin Nov 22-24 and there will be a Chewie there, so we'll be taking a million photos together, I hope!

Met the band, Stolen Babies, at Trees in Dallas on Halloween night. Not only did I win their costume contest, but I got some photos taken with the band.
