Expected number of attendees: 150

Comments: The Cosplay Parade is basically DC Anime Club and 501 c non for profit organization whose purpose is to educate people in Washington,DC about east asia culture through Japanese aniaotn and comics and fellow cosplayers particpate in Fiesta Asia Street Parade. Though the parade starts at 2pm we usually meet up at 10am at the nearest subway station so we may enjoy the event. This is a small festival and parade but family friendly.
Referred by: Star Wars Concert at the verizon center in Washington,DC. DC Anime Club had a table at the event. www.dcanimeclub.org

We have the Relay for Life event this same day.

From the Facebook page:
Please invite your friends. Volunteers are welcome to Cosplay any character they wish. Just keep it family friendly. Don't forget to tell us who your cosplay character is, as well as the anime/manga from where they originated. (We're trying to keep thing diverse.) More Information coming soon:

All cosplay volunteers are to arrive at Archives Navy Memorial Subway Station at 10am and we will proceed to the parade route.
During the parade you will walk wave and smile at the audience.
DO NOT STOP TO TAKE PICS DURING THE PARADE! THERE WILL BE A PHOTOSHOOT AFTERWARDS!

Sadly we do not have a place cosplayers to change so you will have to arrive in costume. If your uncomfortable with that I suggest attending in groups.

NO PHOTOS WIL BE TAKEN DURING THE PARADE. We will have a photoshoot afterwards.
NO FAKE WEAPONS. IF YOU ARE GOING TO WEAR A MASK WAIT TILL THE PARADE STARTS.

THE PARADE ITSELF STARTS AT 2PM. We will have time to enjoy Fiesta Asia until it is time for us to march.

I'm strongly considering this if we have enough of a presence. The Imperial side is sketchy about doing this as there's no changing facility or storage for their bins, which is understandable. Doubtful we'd have enough stormies brave enough to take the metro in full gear. So if we go, it'd be a strong Rebel presence. We can make plans to meet up and take the metro in.

I'm a maybe too, pending presence. I can get away with no changing area if I have to.

I should be able to do this. I'm aiming to have my Jedi done before then. If not that, then my RFT will be going out, sans blaster.

I would also suggest that folks leave the blasters at home, since security groups in DC tend to be a bit overzelous.

I should probably be able to do this, as I live in DC. I would say if anyone wants to use my house as a staging area and metro in, that offer stands. However, I live about 20 minutes from downtown via the metro (though I only live a block-ish away from the metro station). If folks are interested, I can double-check with my housemates on that. Feel free to pass that along to any folks in the 501st that wouldn't mind a metro ride in armor but need a place to stow their box.

If we get enough people for this, I can get poles for flags I recently got in. I have two, one with the RL Logo and one with TB Logo. I'd like a list of Definite attendees, see if we can get a showing.

I'd say blasters would be a definite "keep at home" item. Lightsabers, I think, wouldn't be too much of an issue as long as we don't wave them about wrecklessly.

Jenna, I let the OLG know about your offer.

I'm right off the Silver Spring metro stop on the Red Line.

Nothing too fancy, one 2x3 nylon flag in black with the RL logo and one 2x3 nylon flag in white with Terrapin Base's logo. Mostly bought them to hang up at Cons and any other event we'll have a table at, so they are actually one sided (with the other side showing the reverse...I'm on a budget Razz).
