He's not out yet.

Its not the same figure as the target exclusive. Its the vintage x-wing luke body that most pilots use and supposedly an all new head that looks a lot like the exclusive one, but the head is what was supposed to have held up the figure from being released before xmas.

I still need to pick up that set, and the Ewok set. I see that pilot set frequently in Toys R Us, but I haven't seen the Ewok set the last few weeks...

Hasbro is also releasing a generic A-wing pilot next year. But from the pictures I've seen of it, the figure isn't too great. It's using the highly inaccurate A-wing pilot body that the last few human pilots were made of, not the much more accurate body seen on the Mon Calamari pilot... Which makes no sense to me. Why not use the more accurate body, now that they've made a mold for it?
Still, it could be worse. At least it's not just a repainted B-wing pilot like they did for the so-called "Y-wing pilot".

Hasbro desperately needs some help with their pilot figures. Though I must admit that I was surprised that Hasbro actually got the B-wing pilot figures moderately accurate, especially the Vintage Collection Keyan Farlander. But it could still use some improvements.
But it makes me wonder... If they can get something as unusual as the B-wing pilot moderately accurate, why is the A-wing pilot so hard especially now that they do have a decent mold? And what's more, why is the X-wing pilot so hard to get right? >>

Okay, so it's not Hasbro, but I've got a new LEGO set to look forward to (besides the new collector's B-wing, which I need to buy)...

Aw, heck yeah! And there's finally a decent LEGO B-wing pilot mini-figure!

And a new A-wing, complete with A-wing pilot mini-figure with a relatively accurate helmet.

Looks like LEGO is really stepping up their game.
Is it sad that LEGO mini-figures are starting to look more accurate than Hasbro figures? Laughing

Yeah I don't expect them to fix that mistake until they replace that mold in a few years. Same goes for the "map pocket" where the compad should be.

Honestly, I'd just give up about them ever getting it right. Hasbro could even paint the belt silver-gray instead of brown and it would look at least a little more accurate, but that's not gonna happen.
Heck, it's the same story with the A-wing pilot figures. The human ones have been far from accurate, but the Mon Calamari pilot was actually very accurate... And yet, despite having a rather accurate mold, for the new generic A-wing pilot figure they're using the old inaccurate mold again.
Hasbro never learns. Razz
