Thank you for the consideration.

I have family that live about 40 minutes away from Pitt. that we've been meaning to visit. I can't think of a better place to wear my Corellian jedi robes with green saber. I'll check with my uncle and my wife and let you know.

Okay everyone, Great news!! I have secured a bus for us to be transported in. As explained in the earlier post, it will be almost impossible to find parking and even more so to drive through Pittsburgh especially if you are unfamiliar with their road systems. I AM UNFAMILIAR with their road systems.

For people who are coming in from the south or east, this is just about as easy as it can get. You will get to Monessen before you get to Pittsburgh and don't have to worry about avoiding pedestrians and potholes. The bus has the cargo storage underneath. As I get more details, ei, price, etc I will let you know. The bus holds 46.

This is a great option for anyone interested.

Looks like the drive time to Pittsburgh or Monessen is about the same for me. Depending on cost, I might like to avoid parking in Pittsburgh, though. I live just across the border in Morgantown and I may be able to get a few folks from the Squad Corellia of Garrison Carida to join us as well.

I do think having some 501st guys--stormtroopers and maybe a Vader--would be a great thing. I'm actually in contact with a 501st guy who works in a studio right near where they line up for the parade that we could use as a staging area (he asked about the event and made the offer for the studio). I just wanted to get the OK from Danielle and the officers here before making any sort of actual overture. Don't want to look like I'm trying to do an end-around anyone...

I do believe a bit of clarification is needed in this topic, so here it goes.

This poll was set up to see how many of the Rebel Legion members would be interested in trooping before opening up the event to other Groups. There has been no attempt to leave out any group from this fantastic event that would benefit all sides and put forth bigger smiles on children's faces as we march down the parade route. However, we needed to get all of our ducks in a row before extending the invitation to others. Everyone will have questions that most likely I do not have answers to yet, so please bear with me. As I get additional information it will be posted here.

Within the RL we should have all factions from Princesses, Pilots, Ewoks, Wookies and More... We can do formal as well as informal.

1. Yes, the Rebel Legion has been invited to march in the Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day Parade this year. It is not a "Rebel trick!" There is not plot to over throw the Empire at such a public event. LOL.

2. Yes, the invitation is open to all Rebel Legion Bases, not just Echo, Freedom and Great Lakes. We only posted to Freedom and Great Lakes because they are closer. All bases are welcome to join in on the fun.

3. Yes, we are inviting the 501st, 15 members.

4. Yes, we are inviting the Mandolorian Mercs, 8 members

5. Yes, we are inviting the R2 Builders, 8 members plus droids

This event will be the time for all of us to shine and to show who were are, what we do and why we do what we do!

The Rules of the Parade will be posted here as well. I am going to get them posted today if all goes well.

I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while this event continues to grow.

I am speaking with the Parade Organizer and Chair on a weekly basis in order to get as much information needed. Remember, we are all in this together. We need each other to stay strong and survive.

In this, I remain..

Very Truly Yours,

Danielle Volkar

I understand your concern. We would be allowed a vehicle or a float if there was one available. I would have to add that into future communications in order to get full details.

If anyone has a float available and can bring one, please PM me with specific details on the float so I can pass it on the the Chair and get approval.

That was an excellent question!!

Question. Does anyone know if there are any Rebel Legion Cheerleaders in our area. Whether they are from Echo Base, Freedom, Great Lakes or anywhere that would be willing and able to join in on the St. Patty's Day fun.

Please let me know. PM's are okay....

Great!! Excitement level is rising!!!

Additional information:

1. Yes we can have music if we bring a portable system.

2. Yes, the Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day Committee is very excited to have us on board and cannot wait to see us.

3. Yes, we can make this a fantastic event!

C3PO - we are trying to put something together so we can have you on board. We had tossed around having you on a mini float which would be pulled by Squires along the parade route. Any ideas??

Hmm, I know someone in the area that might be able to put something together. Let me contact Him and see what can be done. I will let you know as soon as i hear back. Having R2 and I on the float would be ideal.

I talked to my uncle and they would love for us to visit. So, if I am able to do this, I will be coming from Leechburg (northeast of Pittsburgh). Is there anyone coming from that general area? If not, I'll need some instruction on where to go and when in Pitt.
