Hi, everyone,

We have an awesome little neighborhood theater in my area, the Hollywood. It's a non-profit community-run theater that is a classic old giant screen place. It used to have a balcony; I'm not sure if it still does. They show classic and second-run movies, and have for many years been the home of our local Rocky Horror cast (with which I was involved in the 90's).

Anyway, they're in danger of getting shut down. The reason is that they're still showing films on 35mm and all of the studios are refusing to send out prints in 35mm anymore. They're forcing theaters to upgrade to digital projection, which costs upwards of $100,000.

They are trying an indiegogo campaign to raise the money at http://www.indiegogo.com/HollywoodGoDigitalOrGoDark , but it's slow going. This theater is a gem of the community and a real home for the arts in my city, and it would be a heartbreaking crime to see it close up shop over this.

Which brings me to my point. What would the protocol be for us to organize some sort of troop to help them fund raise for this project? It seems like something that'd be right up our alley and I'd like to think we could be a big help.

Thanks!

This is what I have often heard of referred to before as A Good Idea.

Indeed, good sir. I'm just not sure what the next step is, and it seems we're between XO's at the moment?

Well what happens is a corporation or civic organization or non profit establishes an event. Before the event happens so how the group hears about the Rebel Legion and suggusted to request us. We receive said request of appearance: it is filtered to the base command from Legion Command. Base Command posts it either as interest or event (determined by time) members post they want to attend. A liason is cofrimed by BC. The event happens, public is amazed. Members go out for dinner after event. Mission report is posted in 48 hours after event with pictures.

The end.

What about local businesses who want the RL there to help celebrate it's anniversary because they are really into Star Wars? Would that be acceptable?
