So I am really trying to breath some life into our corner of the galaxy, so we can get to know one another a little better and I was wondering if you have any costumes not related to sw?

I have a bunch, I recently threw together a bilbo for the premiere of the hobbit and I have a Harry potter too. I made a quick vampire for twilight, so how wide are your genre of costuming?

(pics are coming asap Wink )

SW is the area where I make sure to make correct costumes, but I like dabbling in historical costuming. The problem is to find arenas where I can where them. There is an 18th century weekend not too far away though so I try to go there.

This is my daydress, and this one is really accurate and made after an 18th century pattern.

This is my evening dress. For next year I want to save the skirt and do a totally new jacket for it.

When my aunt celebrated her 50th birthday with a Tolkien party I also made Arwen's coronation dress, and if I had gone to the Hobbit premiere I would have worn it.

I like them too, and it actually says on the pattern that it might be useful to practice moving with the sleeves since they are so big and long.

I can imagine that! I just made a Galadriel for the hobbit, and one of the things I didn't quite like were the sleeves. Just didn't have time to redo them:P

I hope I don't ever get in danger with a lifeguard near, I don't like being shot with :p

Anna, I used McCall 4491 for my sleeves.

I also found some other costumes when I went through my photobucket account.

Mary of Habsburg's wedding gown from 1520 (other colours than the original though)
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/bandykullan/Formal%20balls/IMG_0665.jpg

Evening gown from 1859 (the skirt was cut up to create my 18th century jacket)
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d103/bandykullan/creations/1859/IMG_0548.jpg

My easiest costume, since it's only made from stuff I found at a second hand store. Not accurate, but quite recognisable anyway.

I'll check out that pattern when/if I redo the dress, thanks! Smile I am wondering whether or not I should make her Hobbit dress instead of redoing this one though Smile

Excellent topic, and yes. Smile Of course, Ani has already revealed that given I'm in two of the pics she shared.

Oh my, I laughed at the Finnish Life Guard. Very funny! Laughing

I've done both casual and more serious costumes outside of SW; Harry Potter (Ravenclaw student), LotR (elf woman), Twilight (very casual), Hunger Games (also casual), Ørkenens Sønner (not movie, but comedy/satire group from DK), random farmer girl/rpg peasant. I also have other fandoms I'd like to branch into, but there is the question of when I'd get the chance to use the costumes. My main focus is SW.

A quick goa'uld I did for a costume party:

My ØS costume: (made because I had a suit lying around)

My elf costume:

The elf is not quite done since I didn't get the belt done and there's a couple of other things I want to to something about too.

You should see a close up then. Wink And yes, I've once been told I looked good with a beard. I wasn't quite sure if it was a compliment or not then. (The woman had first thought I was a man, 'cause I played the part of a man. And she even knew me beforehand!) Laughing

Great idea, Ani!! Mr. Green

And cool costumes, all of you!

Like Lora, I've done costumes for both Hunger Games and Twilight. Both were basically thrown together of what could be found in the wardrobe (both in mine and in Mara and Ani's Wink )

Hunger Games - guard:

Twilight:

Then I've got a McGonagall:

Recently, I made a Gandalf for the opening of The Hobbit (I'm shamelessly stealing Lora's pictures Razz) :

This is getting out of hand - now, there are two of them!!

Knocking on the Hobbit's door:

I had some, from the first Chevron event in North Hampton, of you and Ani, Mara, both your green midieval dress and the 1969 outfits. Unfortunately they are stuck on my old downmelted computer, and I have no idea whether I can retrieve all those pictures I have there :-(

But, I can retrieve some pictures of you in Harry Potter outfits. There are some cool ones of you, as Harry, Mara Smile

EDIT: FX, this one with Ani, Bloody and Tionne Smile
