have made a little progress. up passed the elbows on the arms..

arms seem to be going slow.

havnt really had much of a chance to work on it.

I've been trying to sleep whenever I get a chance.. working graveyard is tough. as soon as I get home, I go to bed.. then about 2hr later I have to get up to get Jake off to school, Tara's at work. awake for about 2hrs.. then try to go back to sleep for 3hrs.. then get kids off bus.. awake for bout 1hr till Tara gets home.. then try to go back to sleep.. Crying or Very sad trying to go back to sleep each time is rough.. by time I fall asleep its time to get up. good times, good times.. I could film my own Ep of Walking Dead here Rolling Eyes

Yes....you really did look like the walking dead at the Thanksgiving Day Parade...
I felt so bad for you...you looked like you were about ready to fall over...

I don't know if you saw my post in the Reynolds Advanced Materials seminar thread...
but I have a kit for you to make a mold of your face for the mask...
it was part of the seminar cost and I don't need it for what I am doing...
so...
I will have to try to remember to get you the kit so that you can experiment with your mask.

No matter how far you are with your Chewie...
I would like you to have it on display at the Joliet Library as a "work in progress" exhibit...that would be awesome...

If you have not already tossed them...
make sure to save some bags and packaging of the items you used for the hair and what not....

now..
get off the computer and get some sleep....

Razz

Thank you Phyllis! and sorry, I did see that and meant to comment back, but I seen it on my phone and its a pain to comment with the phone.. I forgot to do so when I got home Embarassed

one thing I did find out is that I am using too much hair when latching..
it starts to come loose as you work with the others..
less hair = tighter latch

Just brush the heck out of it....lol. Its amazing how much hair can be lost with brushing... so I have heard.

Great work so far! I have watched many of these builds and it always amazes me how people get in the rythm of the work, and can do large chunks at a time. Before you know it you will be done with it... and ready for other parts like the mask.

I will be looking to do life casts early spring Crix, so make sure you have all your materials together by then. We can knock it out in a half a day or so. I have at least 1-2 other life casts as well coming up for the spring so I will set up a small section of the garrage for this work.

Good to see the great progress!

Bob

for the most part they seem to be staying put.. and if the do come out.. which they will, I'll have extra hair to fix if I get some bald spots.
from my understanding this is common and Wookiees like this are pretty much always in need of repair after each troop.

as for the mask...

well after talking with Tara(wife) and with my new job, there is just no way I am going to be able to get up there Bob. Tara is working my days off and I sure as hell am not bring my 2 "wonderful" kids with me Rolling Eyes

maybe in a year or 2 I can try again.. when I get some personal days or vaction time. not happening anytime soon.

I DO want to build my own and will most likely have to in the future. the wear and tear are sure to catch up with me, but for now, I got a hold of Ryan....and this showed up yesterday

https://www.facebook.com/Chewiechanga?ref=ts&fref=ts

fits pretty good for not being made for my face. I am happy with it.. for now Laughing

started the grey yesterday...

I havnt updated this in a while... well cause I havnt done anything in a while Embarassed

I got pretty sick back in January with the flu.. still not 100% Crying or Very sad but much better.. lost my motivation there for a bit. I dont think I have ever been that sick... next year I dont think I will skip that flu shot.

Now I hear Peter Mayhew is coming to town in AUG.. so I am now hoping to have it done by then.. dont know if thats possible, but gunna give it a shot..
I have a pretty good idea on how I am going to do everything and pretty confident I can... cept for the hair punching on the mask...I cant seem to wrap my head around how thats going to work...
I get the basic idea, but reading some of other WIP is making me a little nervous... oh well, we will see when I get there.. still got a long way to go before I start that part anyway..

been back at it the last few days.. half the front is done and I am almost done with his back
