So nothing to do with Star Wars, but it does (potentially) contain free stuff.

Basically, Nintendo’s had this promotion going for a fair while now that ends on the 21st. If you’ve got a Wii, and it isn’t connected to the internet; you can connect it and be awarded 500 points. Enough for an ol’ school NES game.

Fun part is the person that ‘helped’ you connect it also gets free games.

So as a shameless grab for cash: anyone got a Wii?

Darn I checked for updates on it last week, before playing Lego Star Wars with the girls.

Well if that was the first time you connected it, you're still good for 30 days. More specificly 30 days from the first time you launch the Wii Shop Channel.

Wii has built in Wifi so it's relatively easy to connect. On the main screen there's an icon in the bottom left to open the options menu. Then in 'Wii Settings' on the second page is 'internet'. Into 'Connection Settings', select a connection and it should handle itself from there.

Once you are connected, you can open the Wii Shop. In that there's an option called Connection Ambassador, select "I've been helped", enter my Wii code [0096 6859 3496 0497], PM me yours and it's done. You could just post it too really. Can't interact with people online with the Wii unless both parties first add each other. Great for kids, bit of a bother for people who wanted to play online.

Oh, getting your Wii code is a bit of a pain. Main screen, bottom right to go to message board. Then bottom left for 'Create Message', then the right most option is 'Address book'. Shows your Wii code.

On a side note I'm really looking forward to the Wii U. I figure some of you might've got to play it at the Sydney EB Games Expo; if so, what you think? Was it any good?
