Woodchuck here. I have a RL member asking if I can build him this blaster:
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/A280_blaster_rifle

I know there are a lot of troopers who have made this, and to save time,
am asking for any links that include the dimensions , or hi-rez photos that
show the surface details.

Or if you have one collecting dust, and are willing to send it to me to
use as a model to go by, I would offer to pay the shipping both ways,
and send you a free helmet stand when I return it for your trouble.

Somewhere I have hi-rez photos of one of the screen-used props. I think I may also have diagrams for at least the scope from a friend of mine in the German Garrison. I'll try to locate them and post them up.

The Endor rifle is built off an AR-15 (or an M-16 or M-4). I'm pretty sure the Hoth rifles were built off StG 44's. But it would take a hardcore gun but to tell at a glance the difference (the forward assist on the AR is the giveaway).

LOL, I see that now with the forward assist clue. I was looking mostly at the overall shape and the barrel. I am a bit embarressed that I didn't see that.

Lazerblade: Correct, the Hoth Rifle (officially called the A-295) was based on surplussed/captured Sturmgewehr-44 (Storm Weapon Model 44) assault rifles. The Endor rifle (officially known as the A-280) was built off of civilian AR-15 rifles. The scopes themselves are modified single-point scopes.

Woodchuck: still looking for them photos.

Hmmm. I wonder if an airsoft M-4 and M-203 would work... I may need to look into this.

(Edit)
On second thought, the M 203 will be WAY too big. It looks like the pump off a Remington or Mossberg would be the right size...

Kurtyboy over on the RPF nailed the parts of the Endor rifle. Most of those that are not from a M-16 are from the Jackal AR7, cut up and glued together: parts of scope assembly, butt stock, in front of mag well, etc.
Them there are parts from the Revell Visible V-8 Engine: Piston halves (#67/#6Cool and Starting Gear Case cover (#92), plus a wheel from the familiar Phantom F4-E model kit. The scope is the familiar Singlepoint.

There were a couple of variations of the prop, also. Check the Visual Dictionary for a version with a different butt stock from the other rifles.
