Can anyone give me an assessment of this armor? Is it a relatively straightforward build? Too hard for a first timer? Etc.

WCA Armor is one of the best armors out there. It is a straight forward armor, but it is my suggestion that you speak with members who have bought the armor before, worked on it, and wear it today.

I understand that, which is why I was asking here for guidance. It's good to know it's a good armor, however. Doesn't necessarily mean it's an easy build.

"Easy to build" is subjective based on your own experiance. You don't need to have had experiance building armor, but do you have the skillset with similar materials? Have you worked with plastic, different glues, model building, any other type of enclosed or "hard" costume, etc.

A Google search brings up a host of photo galleries and WIP threads:

WhiteArmor.net is the home of building "Plastic Boys":

The RPF is another good resource, but you'll have to dig to seperate Star Wars threads becaust it's an open site:

Yes, it's straightforward, meaning the seams are fairly obvious where to cut, where to overlap, etc. The skill and artestry will come from sizing it to fit you. It may take just a few sessions after school or work to trim the armor, but then could take 40-80 (focused) hours to size and get everything together.

Mithras, have you seen my extensive tutorial on clone costuming? It's on this forum.

It is based on WCA kit so you have everything you need out there Smile
