I know that I should know this, and I checked the standards, but I don't see any sleeve requirement.

So is a sleeveless cloak acceptable for formal? I don't mean a cape. Well, I mean a cape with slits in the sides for the arms to stick through.

It seems like it should be OK, but I can't afford to make a mistake!

Very Happy

As far as sleeves go...

if you have a no-sleeve outer tunic...then you must have a long sleeved undertunic..

I don't think that sleeves on the Robe were ever addressed because the robe is on the "optional items" list...

often times applicants have no robe..
or the robe they do have might not even be under consideration if they have enough other optional items...

My Corellian Jedi was smoothly approved with a solid cloak that doesn't have armslits at all.

A Word on Jedi Robes also discusses the issue.

Short form;

1. Large Jedi robe or cloak, similar to movie canon robes/cloaks, in allowed color palette, with attached hood.

Robes have sleeves. Cloaks have no sleeves. Both are OK!

I hope that helps! Wink

yep...
and
again...
many times the robe and its' construction are not even under consideration for a costume approval if there are enough other optional items...

so...
if you see a questionable robe when looking at other approved members...
remember that the robe may not necessarily be "formal"...
it might be that the robe is a moot point..
