actually..
I worded it a bit wrong...

this is what I meant:

my stupid scanner cut off the wording on the left side of the photo...
but it basically says the panel with one half of the velcro on the left side using existing stitching lines (called "stitch in the ditch")
...
and the other side of the velcro gets stitched directly to the back of the right side using the stitching line on that side too

I had a feeling that's what you meant, I appreciate the follow up clarification. I'll likely post a new picture once I've completed this. I'll be remaking my whole costume I think. I got to looking at it and it's a tad too "weathered" (sloppy). Any suggestions for good material with the 'crinkle' look?

Well...
I use crinkle gauze for a lot of my undertunics...
but..
this is the wrong time of year to be looking for it...
It is usually available in late winter/spring because it is a very lightweight fabric...

Usually Joanne fabrics has some in stock most of the year...but what color you will find is anyone's guess..

I remember someone mentioning that they got some heavier weight cotton gauze for their outer tunic. Anyone have any idea where one could pick up some of that?

See this thread...
that may help explain:

Not sure who actually does the archiving in your Base...you might want to check with your CO...

I can tell you it was not one of the judges..

Anyone with a costume in an old frame was supposed to take new photos and submit a new application to have the costume re-judged under current standards...regardless if it still looks the same.

Your Jedi costume in question was in an old frame and from the old website so it was up for re-judging.

All you have to do is suit up, take new photos and submit a new application on that particular costume. Your other costumes are fine as they are already in the new frame.

Yeah I'll be taking new ones once the new costume is done, little too old for brooding black now

Is a KOTOR Jedi approvable? What is a formally approved Jedi? If a KOTOR Jedi is approvable can I join the KJO with it?

Thanks

I had a question, i get quite a few people asking me about Jedi pouches. I normally tell people to get the screen accurate ones that i typically see on RL jedi. I see them online all the the time and only requires a little bit of work to look really good. Lately, i know a few people have worn pouches that are not screen accurate, mostly hand made ones that look similar to pockets. Is their anything in the standards about the pouches? I don't want to tell them to get really expensive items if the don't have to. I like to make sure that any prospective members don't have to do to many mods if their costume is kicked back. Any help would be appreciated. Ben

Well...the costume standards for Generic Jedi say: "leather or leather-like" belt pouches.

It REALLY should include resin cast "boxes".

Here's the trouble with semantics for Jedi Belt accessories...in the films, the Jedi primarily wore resin cast "boxes" and (fewer or one) real leather "pouch". If it's resin, I call it a box. If it's leather, I call it a pouch.

OWK ROTS wore three resin boxes and one leather pouch. Anakin ROTS wore two resin boxes and one leather pouch.

BOTTOM LINE: Generic Jedi should have at least two "boxes" or "pouches" for the belt (as one of the three optional items for formal status). If the costumer chooses to use resin cast boxes, they should be painted to simulate leather.

The ABSOLUTE BOTTOM LINE? Well, almost anything goes for Generic Jedi. Almost two of any "box" or "pouch" is okay. Have a look at my "black" Jedi on the right of my sig or in my profile. This costume uses the "screen" accurate resin-cast boxes that are painted with a pearl/silver/black scheme (which was approved as formal).

Many people will use "cheap" boxes/pouches such these that can be purchased from various vendors on ebay:

Some of these are functional. But no resin box MUST be functional.
I think these are CRAP!!! But...these are perfectly okay for formal status for Generic Jedi. These are NOT okay for face character Jedi.

Face character Jedi must have screen accurate boxes/pouches.

There are a few (meaning not many) people who sell screen accurate resin cast boxes like these:

Some make the leather pouches like these:

In fact, there a tutorial on how to make them:
http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=44773
Some of these folks who make these are Rebel Legion members, some are not.

So...I hope this helps answer your question, and gives you some idea of what is expected for our Generic Jedi and Face Character Jedi.
