BTW, items for the RFT have been ordered. Also, the pockets on the back of the vest are optional correct?

pockets on the back are optional...

and..
the only way to usually have one with the proper pockets on the back is to mod a BDU yourself as you use the sleeves to make the back pockets...

Holsters are next on my agenda to learn..
specifically hand stitching..
I have some leather at home and that is one of the things I plan to bring to the Discovery Center ...
I would like to have Bob showing me the ins and outs of hand stictching..
with the general public looking on to see how it is done..
I do kinda/sorta know the basics...
but again
"best techniques" and needed tools come only with doing it...
and I would like to avoid costly mistakes and tool purchases that are useless..

yes....
lol...
you will be a busy man at DC...

I have done some leatherwork before...
belts...
rivets
snaps
and that miserable leather harness for my Naboo Pilot...

I also did a stormtrooper holster for Crix that was good enough to get approved..but..not the greatest holster in the world...it was to tide him over untill he could afford something better...but as with all things I do..
it was a learning experience and I actually used the hand crank on my sewing machine to sew the leather on that Stormtrooper holster....which kinda works...but kinda doesn't

Yeah,

Bring any blaster you know is an accurate size so I can make them to fit perfectly.

I have not done any homework on the holster for the RFT... so if you guys would be so kind to either print a few pictures or point me to a reference are.

If you guys want to pick up a few tips, I would suggest stop on by when your haing lunch or just on a break... and we can go over the various stitches used in holsters.

I might bring a few holsters that have been completed already as well.

If you have some extra leather that would help greatly too. It can get a bit pricy if I have to get all the hides. I have a few partial hides, but I do not need a dozen RFT holsters either...lol.

Thanks for fast replies...

Bob

Actually...I will have my DH-17 which is a Hasbro and is slightly underscale...
BUT
that is the blaster that 90% of the RFT's and HRS use....
I also have a "full size" DH-17 that is fan made...I can bring that along so you can see the difference...

I also have a Denix Broomhandle replica I want to bring along..
is that anywhere near the size of Luke's blaster?
I haven't done much research on that blaster/holster for Bespin Luke...
but I am trying to help someone achieve it...

And...
if you will be doing a holster while in the Demo area...
I can just watch you and ask questions as you go along...
