Cross-posting from the Mountain Garrison!

It's time Troopers. The six night Trooping event of the year.

Location: Cheynne Mt. Zoo
Dates: Oct 19-20-21 and Oct 26-27-28
Weapons: Yes
Secured changing: Yes. Secured for overnight storage as well
Set up: Yes. Please not in your post if you can arrive to assist
Purpose: Hand out candy to kids. Supporting the Zoo. Photo Ops
Time: 4-9pm. It is an hour longer this year
Arrival time: With set up we need to arrive between 3:30-3:45pm
Canon: No. Please check with me or the POC (Coppin) if you have a question about your armor.

This is an all Star Wars event. The PPS Mt. Garrison is inviting the Rebel Legion as well as the Mando Mercs to come along and enjoy the fun that is BATZ. There is enough room at our location for all three groups to set up tables and enjoy the evenings. There is overnight locked storage for our set up gear to make it easier to transport.

There are 8 slots for vehicle parking located near the location. We have a new location at the top of the Skytram area. The Zoo has advertised our new location on their website. The area is large and is level. If you need to drop off your gear you can enter by the main gates, drive in to the area, drop off your gear and drive back down to the parking lot. I hope to have maps available at the meeting. The 8 slots will be reserved for those who will need them. Keep in mind that if you park your car inside your car will be "locked" in the zoo until close. You will not be able to drive out due to the activity in the zoo. I believe there is a shift change at some point but I have to confirm that information. I will put up a list for the parking, please make a request and we will also discuss further here in the thread and at the meeting on 10/13.

The gates will open this year at 4pm instead of 5pm. The zoo will close at 9pm at which time we can desuit, drive our vehicles in and collect our gear.

We normally head down to have brinner (breakfast for dinner) after each event if you would like to attend. If you have family who would like to attend (kids, spouses, etc) we could always use the handlers.

COME ONE, COME ALL TO THE BATZ 2012 STAR WARS SIX NIGHT EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!

If the Garrison approves, I'll be in my biker scout as it'll be warmer to wear it on the mountainside. I've also volunteered to assist with setup.

Will the event cost us to get in or are there passes?

If you're trooping it, Alex, they haven't charged either of the two times I made it down. I can't imagine that that's changed.

You better be!!

Also... Something to think about, the zoo will gladly take your empty toilet paper, paper towel, wrapping paper rolls, etc.

They make little enrichment activities out of them for the animals. I helped once at the zoo in making them. I'll be bringing a huge garbage bag full of empty rolls for the zoo

With all the events going on, I will try to make as many appearances as possible. For now, I will confirm at least one of the six days, date TBD.

Both Saturdays I will be Leia.

I am also bringing my TB as a backup in case I get too cold and just can't wear Leia any longer.

Cross Posting from the Garrison!

This is going up on the Zoo's website soon.

Star Wars Invades Sky Ride!

The stars will align at the top of the Sky Ride as the Empire, Rebels and Mandalorian Mercs join forces to create the ultimate Star Wars experience, along with several additional Treat Stations.

Bring your camera for photos with Star Wars characters in front of realistic backdrops of the Empire and Rebel Legion. Darth Vader and Princess Leia will make special appearances on both Saturdays (Oct. 20 and 27), and the Gonk Droid, new to BOO this year, will be available for photos all six nights.

A slideshow mixed with Star Wars music and sound effects will play throughout the evening, and guests will have the opportunity to view helmets and various movie weapon replicas on display.

To reach this unique Star Wars experience, purchase a Sky Ride/Boo Combo Ticket for only $3 extra, and take the seven-minute ride to the top for an experience that’s out of this world.

May the force be with you!

The Zoo has had lower than normal summer attendance due to the fire. Please come and support our Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo. Those rebels who live outside Colorado Springs wanting to participate but need some assistance, please PM me.

Jedi, we need you for the lightsaber show. Alex (local Jedi in COS) has signed up but is only available the last weekend (Sunday TBD). MB Jedi of Manarai Temple, will you answer this call?

Canyon Runner Squadron: The are no local pilots and it would great if some of you will complete some sorties to the Springs. The enemy is lack of funds to support the zoo.

*****************************************

Here’s my schedule:

Fri., Oct. 19th: If able to participate, arrival time will be extremely late.
Sat., Oct 20th: Opening to close.
Sun, Oct 21st: Opening to close.
Fri, Oct. 26th: Late arrival to close.
Sat., Oct 27th: Opening to close.
Sun., Oct. 28th: Opening to close.

I'm thinking of bringing my Jedi for this, but haven't totally decided yet... I'll have to factor this in!
