Mine came already. Its kinda small, but I honestly expected that to happen. I need to try it on when I get home and can actually see how it fits, but I can already tell its short by about 1.5" front to back for sure. The sides might be ok, but they would need to be longer if I want to add padding for the ears...

very good to know....

I kinda wondered about that whole "one size fits all thing"

and...
also good to know to make the pattern a little longer...

Yeah the whole thing should be bigger really. I stretch it over my head and you can see though the seams...

I kinda know what I want to do with it, but I won't be able to get to it until our basement is finished.

well....I finally finished my Snowspeeder Pilot gloves complete with my wrist comm....

I had to sew the gray cuffs/gauntlets to gloves that had none...

Not great...but not bad either...

Well...I haven't been doing much..

I did make Robert Redden's X-Wing Pilot belt this weekend..and did his ejection harness a while back..
and..
there was that little disruption called C6...

I probably won't be getting back to any serious costume stuff (like finishing my Riekeen) till after my massive garden is "put to bed"....which won't be till October...

I also need to work on my Gunner bucket...that is still sitting there doing nothing...

and..

well...

I finally submitted this costume...lol..
it is the
Celebration Scene Trooper..

which is just an RFT with a special "hat" that was only seen in the Celebration scene at the end of ANH..
there was a LOT of discussion on this character...
so...
after the dust settled and all were in agreement...
I submitted it..

cool, does that really count as a brand new costume to add to your number of 20 something or is it 23a;)

yeah...
it's a separate costume

cuz it is a different Trooper Class
rather than an optional item on the original RFT

but it is a VERY specific hat...

No...
I didn't make the hat...
I was going to...

Lothar from the German Base made his Yavin Officer and had a seamstress make his hat....the Officer hat is the same hat as seen on the "Celebration Troopers".....
anyway...
I asked Lothar if he could get the pattern for the hat from his seamstress...
and...
instead of an envelope w/pattern arriving..
a box with a hat arrived...

I entertained the notion of taking the hat apart to make a pattern...
but..
the hat is just WAAAAAAAY too nice to take apart...

it is professionally done...
and beautiful...

I think one of the other RAID members is trying to get the pattern from Lothar...

and...
we are back to "stuff" on the project pile...

namely making molds...

ah..
but before the mold making...
comes the "sculpts"...and I use the term loosely...

so...
these are the two sculpts I am working on...
I hope to get these things kind of cut and ready to go to "demo" at Discovery World...

I decided that maybe the Hoth Trench Trooper/Commander wrist comm that I purchased many years ago was a bit oversized...
so I am working on making a slightly smaller version.
These bits and pieces of basswood, balsawood, and poplar dowels will eventually turn out to be like my current wrist comm on the left.

lots of gentle sanding with 400 grit sandpaper....and...
there will be a couple thin coats of primer...wet sanded in between each coat to make sure that none of the grain of the wood will show through.

Then there is my Snowspeeder Pilot wrist comm...
the original piece I made (on the left) was also too big..
so..
starting over...and smaller this time...

Held on by a sew on velcro strip I sewed onto the gauntlet of the glove when I made that...
and
industrial velcro on the wrist comm itself...

current comm on the right...
under production sculpt in wood right now....and not finished by a long shot...
