Ok guys, we've received 2 invitations for 2 different Christmas parades on the same weekend. We're going to vote to decide which one to do.

The first is for Freedom Base's Annual Richmond Parade on Sat. Dec 1st. This parade is 2 miles and there is a group lunch after. We could see about getting together a group with other out of town RL and 501st to stay in the local hotel for a discount, or folks could drive up the day of. Info for the parade is here: http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=40535

The second is for the Baltimore Mayor's Annual Christmas Parade on Sun. Dec 2nd. This parade is 2.5 miles. We don't have much info on this parade yet. The website for last year's parade is here: http://www.mayorschristmasparade.com/

We're going to let this pole run until Sept 26th so that we can get parade applications turned in on time.

I have to go with Baltimore since it's the local one. I'd be great to be with our fellows down in VA but I feel like if we stop going to things in MD when they ask us to we'll stop getting asked by anyone to do things at all.

I'm not sure I understand why we're choosing since they are on separate days. Anyone going to Richmond could make it home with plenty of time to make it to Baltimore on Saturday.

Because it is very strenuous to walk in 2 parades in 2 days and the distance does not allow for us to do both comfortably since it would be about a 3 hr drive each way to and from Richmond.

If the base votes to do the Baltimore Parade then folks are certainly welcome to go to Richmond as well. It's just that we have two official invites and have to make sure that we have enough interest before we can reply to either one as a base.

Curse you for using logic. =)

In that case Baltimore. I thought it was a great time, except for trying to get into the parking lot.

I mailed in our paperwork for the Baltimore Parade. They are very happy to have us back and said that they will try to keep us near the front of the parade.
