Since I already have the Boyscout frame, boxes, and rifle for my Endor trooper, might was well transfer those over to the next logical costume, right?

Snagged these goggles on eBay. I'm tempted to pop out the amber lenses and cut down green lens to replace them . . . has anyone gone that route?

Great to hear that. We always need more Hoth troopers. I have about 50% of the stuff already gathered for me to do a hoth hangar trooper. Keep us up to date on your build.

They're quite close and seeing as how we have one or two events a year that this costume could be wearable (our Christmas Parade is the only event where it's cold enough to warrant such a costume), that'll do Very Happy

Just a small update.

Received a few greeblies and the goggles. I popped out the amber lens of the goggles and traced it over the green welders lens and cut it out. I spray painted the yellow frame with Dupli-Color Paint for Vinyl and Fabric (white) and allowed it to dry. I slid the green lens it into the slot of the goggles.

Rank and wrist greeblie are compliments of Phyllis. Hat side greeblie is from Darth Hair.

LOL, I think we beat that horse to death a while back.

It looks great --I'm impressed that the paint stuck. I was mildly skeptical, but it looks like it's working. Great job! [/code]

Thank you, sir. The vinyl & fabric paint is the same stuff I used on my Commander Cody shoes, so it's made to have a little bit of flex and give when applied. I wore my Cody shoes a good year or so before I had to repaint them . . . and these goggles won't be getting as much wear and tear as a set of shoes. So, they should be good to go Smile

Todays paints never cease to amaze me....there is usually a paint for all needs...

I was thinking of the fact that some surfaces that need to be painted yet flex (like the front fascias on vehicles) they use a flex agent additive to paints when they paint those things....
so..
the technology to paint just about anything is out there...

I've been looking at the shoulder blocks and am starting to wonder if it'd be easier to make these out if iron-on printed pieces? Get a graphic created, send it off to a printing press, print them off and iron them onto the tab and sew it to the sleeve.

Thoughts?
