standard painting - its not a complicated paint job, basic masking and painting. then lacquer closure. I use black acrylic wash to weather, together with rattle can misting

then to sort out the visor mount - I found that if you secured it into the centre; the curve of the helmet bends the edges to the curve, so 2 mounts, top and bottom. Bondo applied to ensure that the screws are pointing in the right directions

the bondo reinforcement is just me being cautious; when I did my face-off mod on the OSCS ROTS Clone helmet, the thin rim of resin above the eyes drooped in hot weather.

lens mounted, secured with washers and nuts

spent the day weather remaining armour parts

shout out to my Scottish mates (thanks for the patch !!). Also, found the Tamiya weathering kit very useful for this build

the difference is there are lots of recessed details in this build

I used my usual acrylic wash, misting and rough sanding. But the weathering kit let me highlight some raised edges very specifically, really making the details 'pop'

I never like the shoe part of a build - not sure why, just do. So anyways, the boot armour is very fiddly. Segment with bits not quite attached.

During the costume discussion - there was talk of shoe vs boot etc. I went with tapered shins which were seamless. Meaning not much space for a high top boot. So I went for a standard almost flat soled shoe with the heel detail

Based on ref pics - I lined up the toe cap and mid section so that they looked right and strategically covered up the shoe lace rings. In my case, flat feet makes the open tongue shoe a better option for me, but this would have been easily with a slip on!

After its aligned - tape and paint. Toe caps were attached with industrial strength velcro

the midsection had an area in the centre which required 'filling in' - I glued in an extra strip of black leather. Then with velcro again - attaching the mid section neatly over the shoe lace rings.

test fit

awesome customer service from FOO on CT.net - neck seal arrived today, perfect fit. Not enough of my neck seal was showing - so I shaved off about 1 cm from the neck rim of the chest plate

small details that I must admit I hadnt seen till pointed out by Balgosa - thanks bro!

I am still waiting on my awesome Purge Armories Havoc Rifle - but in the mean time........ I got bored and threw this together with foam, cardboard and hose connectors

Nate
