Are gloves allowed for generic Jedi (would help for aliens)?

Let's try to address the issue from a more direct point here everyone.

Are you or someone close to you thinking about making an alien Jedi and as such is having issues with the right hands for the costume?

we are here to help, not fight, a prospect member and most of us see this as a chance to improve our membership and our own knowledge.

Let us know so we can derail this thread from a conflict to a constructive effort.

I'm not really sure there is a conflict Smile I think the answer is:

1. Gloves can be used to generic, human jedi without problems

2. Gloves may be used for alien jedi, if the gloves do not conflict with the alien's anatomy

3. Gloves may not be used as a short cut to not have the proper anatomy of alien hands (five fingered gloves would not do for four fingered aliens for example)

or am I totally mistaken here? Smile

You hit it right on the head, Anna. Smile

My biggest thing is number 3 mentioned above. If you've got an alien with a specific hand - Master Plo being a good example since he is very unique, then you'd do your research and find/buy/make the necessary hand for it. I kept searching until I found a pair of Dobby hands off eBay to modify for it, because I'd have no clue where to start my search.

Alternatively, a Gand with (a much lesser difference of) two fingers on each hand sounds like it would be simple enough to split fingers 1/2 and 3/4 and sew each together to make the proper hand shape, which I'd deem acceptable. (And your hand stays in a 'salute' gesture of another beloved fandom that just had it's 46th anniversary yesterday.)

As for a generic Jedi, I wouldn't object to them wearing gloves (unless as Phyllis mentioned, it's Anakin's glove, then it's gotta go!). I tend to take the entire costume into account when reviewing them - if the gloves look out of place and gaudy, I'm more likely to look negatively upon it. But if it blends in well with the costume, then it would probably sail right on through in my opinion since the base requirements & optionals are more important.

I really like this, can this get added into the CRL as an optional?

I doubt that it would be added as an "official" option as it is something that really does not appear on Jedis much in the movies.

The items selected as optional items like food capsules, pouches, communicators, robes etc are items that are commonly carried by movie accurate Jedi.
