I studied prop building and such , you can make a resin cast fairLy easily. Hobby Lobby sells Amazing Crafting resin and putty to make molds and casts. Very simple to use . Smile

This is what I'm proud to present at Celebration 6 Smile

Still need to weather the tunic, fit the arm wraps and get them permanently attached to the arm, and get my own lightsaber

After going through a day with it at C6, i'll say that the arm wraps and boot wraps aren't working to my best hopes. as tight as i wrap them together they come undone with all the movement i make.

I have run out of money after my summer job so i am stuck for a bit.... the brooch i may be able to do cheap if my friend can do it... he owes me a favor and some money hahaha

the wrappings i have to fix somehow... and i need a lightsaber. I can't do what i wanted to do with it (for now) ... i can't afford a custom made saber at all.

i also have to weather his tunic.

and the belt and bandolier i think I will see what i can do with my Tusken Raider bandolier

Could you make parts of the wraps velcro? Use the velcro that has the sticky sides and have the help secure them?

Yes i somehow need to figure out the wraps... the arm wraps just seem so impractical in function... the boot wraps are tricky but i'll try to figure out something, although I'm extremely busy.

Hmmm, for the arm wraps, could you use Velcro cut into squares and attached or glued where the straps on the arm bands criss cross? Same for the boot wraps, that way they will stay in place and not unravel. Just a thought.

I haven't posted in a while, for which i apologize. I have been incredibly busy with family issues, school, and extra-curriculars. Kyp has unfortunately been pushed aside in progress due to lack of personal funds and time to figure out those arm and boot wraps. The velcro seems like it'll work .. it's just a matter of how to get it on: i don't have the means at the moment... But while there is a halt in progress of Kyp, i am almost complete in an OT Tusken Raider.

Hey my young Padawan, glad to see you posting up here...this weekend when we work on your Tusken, bring Kyp. We can try and figure out a good weathering process. Anyone have tips for weathering light fabrics without causing extreme fraying?

And as far as the velcro goes, we can work on that too. There's always a means...I'll show you some of my ideas.

And no need to apologize. Never be afraid to ask for help with the costume or with anything, like I've told you a million times, we're all brothers and sisters in the Legion, and we have each other's backs!

No it wasn't, he's still working on Kyp as far as I know. His generic Jedi was approved. Not sure what the need to close the thread would be.
