I have both of the "Thinking Cap" items, trooper and empire. While the Imperial Officer would be 501st acceptable if you replaced the disk, the "Rebel Trooper" is sadly just a modern pattern baseball cap with a flap and a goofy patch.

ok....

it's official ...I guess...

This costume is listed as Celebration Scene Trooper

with regard to the hat...

I wish I could take credit for it...
but..
when Lothar from the German base submitted his Rebel Officer costume (that uses the same hat) I asked him if he could get me a pattern for the hat...
well...
he didn't send a pattern...but the hat itself...
The hat was made by a seamstress in Germany and is really a beautiful hat...
so..
if we can get that pattern from Lothar...that would help tremendously...

Maybe Lothar´s seamstress could do a small run of those caps?
Going to ask him....

BTW, celebration scene trooper sounds good to me!

That hat could be taken apart and used to make a partial pattern.

Nice find, and really cheap...
...but too wrong colour, imho!

The pattern maybe would be ok as it doesn´t look like a normal baseball cap.

Interesting anyway, thanks for sharing, Tagg!

The top seams on the Swedish cap change the whole shape.

These scenes were some of the last to be filmed, and they needed to find wardrobe for 400 extras in about a week (with very little money).

I believe they found a bunch of surplus WW2 US Army Air Force B-1 caps at the costumer and quickly added the back flap

The best thing a filmmaker can hear: Cheap and Fast.

Wow, the B-1 cap looks absolutely perfect!
