Finished up today:........

Once dry, I ran it under hot water and used a soft scrub pad (Teflon safe soft) and removed the mustard masking to expose the aluminum base coat.

This technique works well for duplicating the flaked paint on WW2 Japanese aircraft that have been out in the Pacific weather and sun too long.

I think this kit captures the shape of the costume item extremely well, is more durable than my cast resin version, and was easily cut to fit my head to get the "over the ears" screen look.

Very well Done! I will have to try that mustard technique out.

I'm also glad that you like the overall shape of the helmet, and that you guys talked me into doing a front/back set for the molds.
I was a little worried about making it look right on the first try, and balancing that with being usable for most people. I was mainly going by the screen grabs of the Luke and Leia donuts and didn't see the other reference photos until after the fact. I definitely see a difference in the shape with the helmets in the reference photos.
I'm guessing that like everything else there are stunt versions and hero versions of them.

And here it is with my revised camo and upgraded web gear:

The black laces on the gaiters were an experiment, I'm going to replace them with some OD paracord.
