small update...

These have been sewn on where they go and I think the flight suit is finished...maybe.

A few pocket questions:
Q1: Not sure if I need to remove the back rear end pockets or not, anyone know?
Q2: Do I have to do anything to the front pockets just below the waist? I noticed on some suits they have like an overlay outline of the pocket. And I was not planning to do the chest at this time as it is covered by the flake vest.

So next is the belt and harness and that should finally get it done!!

Sean ...

Q1 Rear pockets = technically they shouldn't be there, but the standards don't currently say it. Since you're in this stage, I'd recommend removing them in case the standards change. Removing them later after the suit's faded a bit will leave you with two red buttocks. Laughing

Q2 Front pockets = I think I know what you're talking about, and you should be fine, but can you post a pic so I can be sure?

Both chestboxes are looking awesome. Very nice work on them!

And dude, I so want to buy one of your B-wing chestboxes. I'd even buy an A-wing one. Cool

Ditto... Please post when/if you get into a production run phase! :-)

If you're going by technical, then the commpad pocket probably shouldn't be there either, or the code cylinder pocket. Or the shoulder pocket on the right arm. Razz
It doesn't really look like the coveralls have any other pockets than the two thigh pockets (one on each leg), and maybe a set of hip pockets. I don't really see any others. Not counting chest pockets 'cause those can't be seen, anyway, so who knows?

I'm really debating about what I want to do with my new pair of coveralls when it comes to the pockets. If I am correct and there is only the thigh and hip pockets, that makes storing things a lot trickier. It's awfully nice to have a place to put my wallet, ID, medicine and what-not. But...

Ok thanks guys.

I will seam rip the back pockets off. I was on the fence and leaning that way any how based on the endor celebration photo.

The other pockets I was speaking of are the front pockets like you have on jeans. The coveralls I have have a pocket and an opening behind the pocket at the hip to the inside of the coveall. I was wondering if you have to have the seam look, like it is sewn over the leg? I will probably just leave them as they came, pockets but no outline.

These are not mine but they show the sewn over outline look I am trying to describe.

Oh and I found this the other day. Best close up I have found.

Thanks for following,
-Sean

Forgot to ask. Does anyone have a good image of the belt buckle or even a picture of theirs? I am trying to decide if it is nylon strap cut fancy of white flake vest material like the A and X pilots have. And is it sewn or of a slide through type. Almost looks like the belt goes behind it.

Mind sharing? I'm always interested in seeing more. And maybe there's something I haven't seen yet. Razz

I thought I'd already sent you everything Alex. Go ahead and shoot me your email and I'll forward it all to you as well.

Oh, and Sean ... yeah, those other pockets would be fine. We wouldn't ding you on them.

No, I don't think you ever have. Unless you did and I forgot... But I don't remember seeing anything.

'Course, my memory is only about thirty seconds long. I can't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday, let alone an E-mail from over a year ago. Laughing

Anywho, I'll PM you my address. Thanks!

And finally finished...at least for now.

A few things to tweak, namely paint on the box in spots (very minor), clear coat, weather it some, going to add the two black boxes with the cable that connect the two gray halves of the box, and add the com box oppisite the flares on the waist belt.

Should get approved at this stage any how.

Version 2 will have the above done and hopefully a B-wing helmet (If not I have an X-wing style standing by).

What do you flyboys think???

Nice. Looks like it came out pretty well. Nice job! Smile

I do have one small suggestion... On your ejection harness, it looks like you've got a little bit of loose webbing on the back of one of the straps. Might want to trim that a little shorter and put a little glue on it so it doesn't catch on anything. Believe me, these straps are hard enough to walk in as it is, you don't need another reason trip. Laughing

And just one thing to be aware of as you walk: I have a horrible time with the loops of my ejection harness getting caught on my gaiters as I walk-- and especially as I walk up or down stairs-- so be careful as you walk around. Just something to pay attention to.
