So today I had a friend volunteer to take photos of my costumes so th at I could get good quality pics. I mostly did my A-wing pilot and Amidala, but I also took new photos for the rejudging of my Padme blue poncho in the old frames. It was really fun to have a proper photografer take pictures with a good camera. So far she's sent me some of the Amidala pics and here are my favorites:

We also goofed around a bit so:

Oh, wow. Great photoshooting location. Costume too. Very Happy
I can imagine how much storage space is needed for such a costume.

I't actually not too bad. I can get everything into one big suitcase, except the tiara since I don't want to break it. Now to keep it from getting wrinkled that's another thing.

I vote for wrinkled costumes! Seriously, it's almost impossible to avoid wrinkles if the fabric want to wrinkle. Rolling Eyes

Wonderful pics, Johanna. I really love your costume.

I think so. raise eyebrows

BTW, my wall is currently adorned with "The Ladies of the RPF" (Replica Prop Forum) calendar, and is currently showing "Maul Walker" (not Andrew Rolling Eyes ) in a really good Mon Mothma costume.

I have to admit, that I didn't like Amidala's purple travel outfit in the movie (not my least favorite, but still) but I like your version of it. Very well made Smile and the flight suit is also good looking Smile

The Poncho I would love some details on how you made that one. It's one I've wanted to make myself Smile

thank you for the comments on the poncho. The poncho is actually what made me into a costumer, I fell in love with it when I saw the first promo pics of it back in 2001, and then I decided to make it in the summer after AOTC. This was also the first costume from the Nordic Countries that was accepted into the RL. Today I would have done it in a totally different way, but I still keep it for nostalgic reasons, and I hope that it will be accepted as formal now when it's being rejudged.

Anyway for the underdress I was lucky to have a summer skirt in a crinkled fabric. I dyed it, lengthened it in the back. There was a waist seem that I could rip, unfortunately the lengthening would have been visNble in the front so I couldn't do that. I also changed it from a rounded to a V-neck, by simply cutting it. The overdress is in a blue fabric I found at home, I then painted the sleeve patterns and embroidered the Naboo symbols and the big circle in satin stichtes and left over yarns that I found at home. The cut of the tunic was simply a T-tunic that I cut with flared sleeves and then changed the shape of the front. I then added the light blue lining, another fabric that was found in my stash.

This is probably my cheapest and most comfortable costume, but it's in no way my most accurate one. Nobody ever recognises that it's from SW though.

I would have recognized it, but of course, it's only in two scenes of the movie, so not one of the more recognizable or maybe remarkable ones.

I look forward to seeing it, when you've made the modifications Smile

Hey Johanna, I know you are going to Celebration VI. There will be a Trash Compactor in the 501'st room. If you are bringing your Leia costume, then I think that you have to take a picture there.

I don't think I'll bring my Leia this time, too little room in my bags for all the costumes that I want to wear.
