Hi, I'm a 501st member and I'm looking to join the Rebel Legion as well. Almost ten years ago I scratch made my own Xwing pilot costume. I even won third place (best pumpkin) in a Rebelscum.com Halloween costume contest with it. I only wore it a few times and although it's decent, nothing about it is within spec for approval. So, I figured I'd start with the jumpsuit. What brand, type, etc, is the best to get. I've found some doing a simple Google search, but figured the folks here would be able to give recommedations. I'd like to try and get this costume done for CVI.[/img]

I got my X-Wing jumpsuit from Claudio on ebay. He makes great stuff made to legion standards. Here is the ebay page.

I have two from him (Orange and Black) and the quality is excellent.

There is "off the rack" and custom made to your measurements (about 20 of them on the order form!). The custom made will take some time, but you have a suit that fits you.

He is a 501st member (SL-1358) and will deal directly with 501st/RL members - PM him.

I know there are some "off the rack" ones that will work with only a few mods. I spoke with a Xwing pilot recently and thats what he did. I'd actually prefer to go that route. Usually, it'll be much cheaper for the suit. Also, I'd like to buy something in country. If there's a fit issue, its a simple return versus waiting for something custom tailored. No offense to Claudio, it looks as if he does really good work. The mods are a non issue. My wife and I have our own prop and costume business so its not a big deal adding pockets or anything like that.

I also have to support Claudio. I was extremely happy with suit he made me. It has also held up very well over time. I also feel the price is very fair. He kept me updated very well also.

Here's one of many threads http://www.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16097

If you do the modifications yourself, keep in mind that to do a completely accurate job the two chest pockets are set into the diagonal seams that run fron the waistband to the yoke. Don't know why they designed them that way.

But just remember that the chest pockets are required for approval. They're not listed in the Costume Standards since they're covered by the flak vest. Wink

MonCal is doing a run of new jumpsuits which look very accurate. You can order them on the 501st forum or the RL forum (look in the for sale/trade section).
