Hey, everyone. I need some help with re-writing the Anakin Episode II standard to bring it up to speed. If you noticed, we re-published the Episode III standard to bring it in line with OWK standards and keep a consistency across the board - everything from calling for more movie accurate parts (pouches, etc.) to hair and facial requirements to prevent bias of male characters vs. female characters.

So now I'm working on Episode II's costumes, and find myself unable to bring all the details forward, having never done this version of the costume and have a few questions for those who have. Special thanks to Bryan, Matt & Christian, who's threads have been invaluable so far!

Here's what I have for the new one. All Jedi standards are following the same format (where applicable):

Outer Tunic
Inner Tunic
Tabards
Obi
Pants
Belt
Belt accessories
Lightsaber
Boots
Hair/Facial features

So here is the setup for Episode II:
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Anakin Skywalker (Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Jedi Padawan)

Required Items:

1. Chocolate to dark brown outer tunic with shoulder tucks.
2. Light tan inner tunic
3. Chocolate to dark brown cloth tabards.
4. Dark brown leather/pleather tabards that fall 2-3” past hemline of outer tunic.
5. Chocolate to dark brown obi.
6. Dark brown flat front pants
7. Medium brown leather belt with inner smaller strap held by 8 silver button studs and silver side release buckle.
8. Jedi food capsules, 4 silver and 4 gold
9. Movie accurate small ribbed belt pouch.
10. Movie accurate tall ribbed belt pouch.
11. Movie accurate wide ribbed belt pouch.
12. Covertec clip (original style).
13. Anakin's AotC Hero lightsaber hilt
14. Belt components should be arranged in the proper order.
15. Dark brown boots, knee high, with spats and three straps on each leg.
16. Short hair or Anakin’s cut from AotC. Costumer must be clean shaven.
17. Padawan braid.

Optional:

Suggested, but not required:

1. Outer dark brown cloak with tabbards and pleated hood
2. Jedi apprentice ponytail

Costume Resources:
1. Rebel Legion Anakin Forums
2. Padawan's Guide

---------------------------------------------

So a couple of questions for the experts:

1. Anyone have a diagram of belt arrangement?
2. Length of a. Inner cloth tabards, front and back and 2. outer leather tabard in back to be cited in standard.

Somehow, the Travel standard has completely vanished. If anyone has a copy of that they could post, it would be most bombad! Otherwise, I'll try and reconstruct that from scratch and pop the movie on to examine it closer...

Maybe the ponytail can be under Optional as well. Other than that, it looks fine to me.

Thank you to both - and added the ponytail to optional.

Loading up the DVD now on the PC to check out the travel cloak & gear...

EDIT: Okay, here's what I took away from it. The ascot tickled me, he's off to solve a mystery! Any feedback is appreciated! I dug through the scenes as well as deleted ones looking for other clues like belt, lightsaber, etc. Finding none, I tossed them.

But I found the description in Dressing a Galaxy: Anakin's Interior Freighter Disguise costume consists of his Jedi trousers and a taupe raw silk open weave undershirt, along with an African mudcloth fabric double breasted vest, a dark green cummerbund, and a tan and green neck scarf, combined with a woven poncho in an off-white, vintage African fabric.

Attempting to translate that into something workable...

Anakin Skywalker (Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Outlander Peasant Disguise)

Required Items:

1. Woolen outer vest, double breasted, dark brown with light brown accent pattern. Vest has wide mandarin-type collar
2. Taupe crinkle cotton long sleeve inner tunic
3. Brown and orange patterned neck scarf
4. Dark green cummerbund
4. Dark brown flat front pants
5. Dark brown boots, knee high, with spats and three straps on each leg.
6. Short hair or Anakin’s cut from AotC. Costumer must be clean shaven.
7. Padawan braid.

Optional:

Suggested, but not required:

1. Knee length weathered ivory travel cloak with white horizontal stripes and v-neck to chest. Sides should drape to just past the elbows when arms are bent.
2. Jedi apprentice ponytail

The visual dictipnary has a very good picture of the outfit without the poncho. It shows the details very clearly. Smile

If no one has any other changes/suggestions/additions to these two standards, I'll go ahead and publish them.

Thanks for the input!
