(Copied from MG - never got cross-posted)

Type of Function:
This is one of my favorite troops for great family style community fun.

The Erie Town Fair is an old town style street fair that annually draws more than 20,000 people.

The day begins with a launch of 50 hot air balloons in the morning and is followed by an all-day fair that covers 6 full blocks, plus a sizable park area which includes over 250 booths, classic car exhibition, a carnival, food vendors, live music throughout the day and lots more. The fair is located just north of Denver, east of Boulder and south of Longmont.

When:
Saturday, May 19, 2012
Time of Event:
10am-4pm (Plus set up and tear down)
Troopers are welcome to troop just for part of the day, but anyone arriving after about 8:45am will have to park elsewhere and carry thier costume at least a couple bloacks, if not more.

Host Unit:
Snowy Range Squad – South

Location:
Coal Creek Park
425 Kattell St
Erie, CO 80301

Booth location (this image has a previous year's date, but it's the same general booth area) http://www.mg501.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10399/ETF-Booth-map.jpg

Outdoor festival, with an on-site changing/storage tent directly behind our booth.

Entertainers needed:
Joint Ops
The Erie Chamber of Commerce is offering us booth space in the park area near the children’s carnival. This troop will be much like the Denver Boo at the Zoo event. We have the opportunity to set up whatever we want in our space. We are also in the grass park area so we will have more breathing room for foot traffic as the street areas get very crowded.

Again for this year: We have permission to set up a Nerf Dart “Blast the Trooper” live target shooting gallery. I believe this will help us solicit donations for the Erie area schools “Odyssey of the Mind” program which has 3 teams travelling to Iowa this year for the World Finals.

If anyone has trading cards or tattoos or anything else to donate as “prizes”, please send them my way.

Rules and Guidelines:
Will there be children present? • Tons
What are the guidelines for interaction? • Mostly a bucket on event, but laid back enough to remove a bucket for more personal communication if called for.
Weapon restrictions? • No
Are handlers needed at this event? • Yes, if available. We may have some members of the Erie High School Odyssey of the Mind team help with the Nerf gallery.

Are members children allowed at event? • Yes, but be aware that there are a lot of people in case you are concerned about kiddos getting lost in a crowd.

Expect a lot of photos.

Trooper Provisions:
Men's and Women's secure dressing area? • Secure co-ed dressing and storage location in large tent.
Will food/water be provided? • BYOBeverage
Any other entertainer "perks"? • Take a break and cruise the fair.

Needs:
Troopers
Tables
Chairs
Banners
Hand-outs
Food an drink for afterwards is welcome.

Just like last year I will host a backyard get together at my house afterwards.

Roster:
Please indicate if you would be willing to participate as a target in the "Blast the Trooper" fundraiser. Eye protecion is required. I'll have safety goggles if you aren't wearing a helmet.
