Hi guys! Check this out!

However, I didn't get fully approved, only as informal. Apparently, the pants should be dark purple or plum coloured and I have black. I don't agree with them though. I've been studying the film, last time yesterday, and I think that if anything, they're dark brown.
Also, I think their priorities are wrong. Who sees the difference between DARK brown pants and black, compared to many already approved costumes that has faults in my view that are visible even before you click the costume for a bigger picture...
I'm upset about this, and I'm gonna see if it's anything to do about. Maybe the standards needs to be updated a bit...

it is possible to find pictures that show the pants as purple (I researched this costume a lot before making it for the opening of episode 1, because I wanted to have the option to have it approved)

I agree, however! That the pants look very, very black in all pictures you're able to find, and I was amazed when I saw the pictures of the plum/purple pants Shocked

(That being said, I'm quite happy with the colour I ended up with, when dying my fabric Smile )

You do make a beautiful Padmé - and I understand your frustrations!

Found this one that Lora took at LegoWorld:

The colour is a bit hard to see, but it is actually a dark purple Smile

I was very lucky, actually. I bought some cheap, cheap fabric on sale - less then 5 dollars pr. meter, and it was some kind of synthetic, dark grey fabric. Can't even remember what it's called. Bought it because I liked the texture. Then, I threw it in the washer with a purple dylon dye, and voila Smile purple pants Smile

I think your Padmé looks very good, and I agree; I think they do tend to be too concerned about correct colors in costumes where only the most die hard fans of that costume will notice it if you use the color it often appears to be.

(They have the same discussion about Jocasta Nu; black or dark brown. Looks like the standards may in the future only allow dark brown, even if it looks black on film, in books etc.).

Hope you find a solution you're happy with.
