Smile Greetings all,
I won't be on for awhile as on this Friday I go into the hospital get my left knee replaced. It has been clicking a lot. I wore my knee brace at Dragon Con all the time. I came home, went to the doctor, he took x rays & said time is now for the replacement. I have come close a couple of times that my knee has almost gone out from under me---very weird feeling also a bit dangerous--I don't want to take the chance of falling.

I'm hoping I will be up for trouping by April as knee surgery is getting to be pretty common all things considered. The surgery is easy the rehab is the hard part. I'm hoping all will go smoothly & the rehab will give me a good work out.
I will be close to being I bionic Jedi as I do have 2 shoulder replacements already due to bone on bone arthritis.

I think what makes me the saddest Crying or Very sad about this whole thing is I won't be able to put on my Jedi boots for a long time or drive. I'm hoping maybe at Xmas I can at least on part of my Jedi for the Holidays---minus the boots but for the time being my costumes are resting.

If all goes well I will be most definitely ready for Celebration 6, something to look forward to. Smile

Have fun trouping during the holidays. Very Happy
Happy Holidays to all of RL & my base.

May the Force be with you

Very Happy Thank you all.
It has now been 7 weeks since surgery & this Jedi is doing pretty good. I'm starting to walk both with & without a cane, depends on how stiff I am when I stand up. Sitting seems to stiffen me up a lot.
I have exercises I'm doing, which help. I can walk very slowly up & down the stepts with alternating feet some of the time.
Not sure when I'm going to attempt getting into the drivers seat yet as I would have to lead out with my left leg & it is still quite sensitive to pressure but getting stronger.

I'm hoping to be ready for C2E2 which is in April---should be almost no prob though if I get a room I'm going to have to transport myself with my Jedi transport from the hotel to the convention hall--that probably won't change in the future for me. I can walk but distance is tough. Though I am doing some walking when we go to the mall to help me out. I ride part & walk part when there.

Still haven't attempted to put on my Jedi boots yet but that to will come in time.
Thank you again

Well it has been awhile since I posted about how I'm doing. Thank you to all of you for your well wishes & prayers for my recovery. Bionic Jedi checking in (I have 2 shoulder replacements from 2007 & 2008) I'm walking without a cane, though I keep my chair cane close at hand. I am driving yet have to be cautious on how I get out of the car. I have to be very careful when going up & down the stairs but doing quite well even though I'm slower than a turtle at times Rolling Eyes . While I was healing I did feel as old as Yoda many times. I have not attempted to put on my Jedi boots yet but I think I'm going to attempt it this weekend to see how goes. I may even attempt to put my Jedi uniform on for the 1st time for my Mom's 88th birthday on March 6. I'm going to have to take my obi in, I know that for sure.
I think this Jedi is almost ready to get back to trouping Very Happy ---I believe March 24, if all goes well I may be able to start officially, if not then I will be at C2E2 in April helping out along with my Jedi transport to help get me from hotel to convention hall---that is one very long trek of walking. I do know I cannot stand for a long period of time, that is still one thing both my knee & lower back say no to. I'm actually anxious & looking forward to getting back into costume Very Happy .
