Hi Mos Eisley Base!

Legoland has asked us back for their Star Wars Weekends, which have been a blast for the past 5 years or so.

Except this year, they want 3 weekends. Shocked

The main opening weekend is March 31/April 1st, then April 7/8, and closing weekend is April 14/15.

We don't have signups/real info right now since we're trying to focus on the TPM events, but those will be coming soon! How we normally do Legoland is each day has 2 shifts: a morning and an afternoon shift. You can do both if you would like, but a normal day is 8am-6pm, which makes for a LONG day.

We realize that April 8 is Easter, and we're discussing this with Legoland.

At any rate, we'd love for anyone willing to make the trip out to join us for the events. Legoland is a blast, and they take incredibly good care of us.

Let me know if anyone's interested!

Rats!! Still saving up for CVI. Too bad I can't make it this year. Hopefully it will happen next year also. I have a huge collection of Star Wars Legos!

Hi Arizona! Here's the official event information if any of you would like to join us!

The Event:
Event Title: Legoland Star Wars Weekend
Date: Saturday March 31/Sunday April 1st, April 7/8, & April 14/15
Call time: SEE SPECIAL NOTES
Duration of event: SEE SPECIAL NOTES
Address: Legoland, Carlsbad CA
Cut off for date for requesting participation: ASAP

What we'll be doing / Why we are there: As in previous years, the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion have been invited back to Legoland for their Star Wars Weekend. We will be doing the following activities:

•Early AM live shots

•Opening the park

•Staged meet n greets with Vader and other characters

•Droid Hunt

•Costume Contest Judging

•Roaming the park, with emphasis on SW Miniland

Attendees:
Requested Characters: Any, however they would like Vader, and face characters like Leia, Ahsoka, Luke, Han, Obi Wan, Anakin, etc, as well as Stormtroopers, Clones, Rebel Pilots, RFT's etc etc
Number of Characters: 30-35 per SHIFT including wranglers (see special notes)
Which Club is controlling the event?: 501st Legion/Rebel Legion
Are other clubs invited?: Yes, 501st Legion and R2 Builders
Wranglers needed? How many?: Yes, max 10 each day. (see special notes on wrangler duties)
Can family members/friends come?: Yes, however friends/family who are not working will need to purchase their own tickets, and may not be allowed into the dressing area.

Additional Details:
Weapons ok? Yes, common sense of course.
Changing area provided? Yes, we will be using the same space as last year .
They will keep the same tents, and will be renting additional umbrellas to provide us more shade.
Food/Water provided? Yes, Food, drink, snacks to be provided through the day.
Parking provided? Yes, we will park in the employee lot, parking pass to be posted!
Any out of pocket expenses? No, only gas to get there.

Any special instructions:

Call Time/Duration of Event:
Due to problems with "end of day fallout" from troopers who are tired and can't make the whole day, we're breaking signups into shifts.

Each day we will have two shifts. Opening from 8 am to 1pm (with 7 am arrival time), and 1 pm to 5/6pm (with 12 noon arrival time).

People will be able to sign up for both shifts, however if you do, you need to stay for the duration of the shifts you signed up for. Early shift will do the park opening. Late shift will do the park closing. Both shifts will participate in all other activities including Droid Hunt.

WRANGLER DUTIES: Wranglers are expected to work, and they work hard. We have 10 wrangler spots for 35-40 costumers. The wranglers will escort costumers to and from activities, to and from changing areas, bring them water, help them dress/undress, take pictures, etc etc. Wranglers are not assigned to any one person, so if you come with a friend/spouse, you may or may not be with that person…we have to send the wranglers where they are needed!

This event is VERY popular. SO…if you are "tentative", please realize your name will NOT be placed on the list until you confirm your day of attendance, shift(s) requested, and your costume. In the case of face characters, first confirmed gets the spots.

RE FACE CHARACTERS: We can have duplicates, as long as they're not exactly the same. I.e. we can have two Leias as long as they are different—i.e. ANH Leia and ROTJ Endor Leia, or ROTJ Luke and ESB Luke. We will be looking for 2-3 Vader costumers (they have priority for spots), and will never appear at the same time.

1) Remember the rules re the bathrooms. Either you have to go in fully dressed in costume and use the family bathroom OR you have to suit down to civilian clothes. Unfortunately Legoland cannot rope off that bathroom for us...because there is not another one close by for public use. HOWEVER...I will have two long Jedi Robes on site, specifically so that those armored folks can suit down as much as possible and then put on the robe to run to the little troopers room.

2) FOOD: Legoland is buying us all lunch (BOTH SHIFTS) and it'll come right around NOON. As usual, there'll be the snackies, water bubbler, drinks, and they're going to make sure we have more shade.

3) Parking passes: Will be provided

4) Droid Hunt! We'll be looking for many volunteers to help with the Droid Hunt, as well as wranglers to potentially help out with passing badges if Legoland staff needs assistance.

EVENT POINT OF CONTACT: Lesley Farquhar and Edgar Gallego for the 501st Legion, Rachel Williams for the Rebel Legion

All discussions and such will be happening on Sunrider's private board, which you can see HERE.

If you want to register on the boards, go ahead, just let me know so I can approve your account.

You can also sign up here; I'll keep the lists updated. Smile

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
