I have decided to do a ESB Han and am doing my own blaster build. I'm using an air soft mauser, but I am looking for a machinist to make me a flash hider and maybe the other greeblies. Is anyone a machinist? Can anyone recommend one?

Thanks!

There was a guy on the Jedi boards who just posted that he is hoping to setup his lathe soon. He does other work that's good...perhaps I should drop him a line and see if he would be interested in trying to build a flash hider.
I have seen one in person that was made from a cake decorator and it looked really good. I haven't been able to find the cone though in any shop I've gone to. It seems that style of cake decorator is no longer made.
I was planning on trying to make one out of a funnel and bottle caps, but I just have not yet put it together to see if it's viable. But that was my thought. In case you're curious for the parts, it was an oil funnel from Wal Mart and two Hershey's shake drink things. At the very least, it was a tasty part gathering trip Laughing

Blasttech or hanging out at theRPF are really the only other options I can think of.

edit: I put a bug in his ear about it, he liked the idea and said he will put it on his list. But...he has a number of projects ahead of it. So, hopefully he'll get to it and turn out something good, then we'll have a good RL source for flash hiders! But, sadly, it won't help for your situation.

If you could get his contact info and forward it to me that would be great! (I really don't have the energy or time to go join another board.)

Okay, I'm looking for boots. I am doing an Imperial Officer and would like to use the Han boots for that as well. A lot of the stuff I see is just really expensive to boot (pun intended)! I've seen used boots for like $50 less than new, but the new would need to be cut at the top to make it flat. My understanding is that it's gotta be 18" but what if it's more like 17ish" to get that leveling done. Is that a deal breaker?

I think some of it will depend on how tall you are, but I do not see 17 inches tall being that short at all!

I found some equestrian boots that look pretty good. Would those work? How close is close enough? I found Russian boots that are like double the equestrian boots...

Those look really nice... I think if you straighten out the tops your right on the money!
Before you cut the tops, check with Cobalt on how he feels about them.

But the seam in front goes straight across, but I believe it should go up?
