I was thinking that it might be nice for us pilots to visit the Kennedy Space Center, sort of a road trip. CVI might be a good oportunity. It would depend on how many of us pilots will be there enough days (before or after the event) to pull it off. Our orange costumes look like astronauts outfits...

Take a look at this picture...

Wouldn't it look great with an x-wing, instead of Kennedy Space Center it would say Rebel Legion. Instead of Space Camp Program it would say Starship Command, and the last sentece to be: "It's cool to be a pilot".

There are buses to Kennedy space Center that pick you up in any hotel of the int'l drive in Orlando- http://www.kennedyspacecentertours.net

It may be a problem to bring costumes with us, where to change, where to store the costume after, and -of course- if NASA would allow us to wander around in costume.

I suppose it would be possible to arrange something - but it must pass through higher command: I don't know if the Rebel Legion could contact NASA, or we have to ask via LFL.

BTW, at cel.V Kennedy center had a small booth in the convention, but no real information how to get there - the above bus service is a private company, not NASA's.

if would be nice if LFL/Reed could talk NASA into something bigger for 2012 - even, maybe, to set a date for a visit there, in costume and what else.

I think I picked all the brochures of that booth, even took a picture with the astronaut.

I'd be real nice it this could be done. Wink

I never get tired of seeing that graphic. Very Happy

If we have permission to use the artwork and there is interest, I'd be willing to do a coin/patch run of this design.

Is there permission yet??? please! I'd love to have anything with this design!!! XD
