For Christmas, not only did I get the 12" figure of the Endor commando, I also got the surplus czeck rucksack to go with my costume.

Sweet! I'll be working on mine again here in the next while. Going to improve the helmets look a bit, get the pouches on the belt and the rucksack to look filled, get my bandolier finished, and get a closure on the vest.

Nice Rich.
I'm thinking about using some styrofoam sheets inside a trashbag to fill the inside body of the rucksack. I figure I can kit to fit, no weight, but I'll put it in a bag so I don't get white styrofoam flakes everywhere. Then maybe put a towel or two in the outer pockets, and a water bottle for actual drinking in one pocket. I may have an old black hose from a vacuum laying around I can use for my tube accessory.

I packed old (washed) socks into various pouch pockets. I figure if I need to actually put something inside it's easy to throw away. For my large pack, I used an old Priority Mail box in one, and a 40k model box for the other. When I'm at a con, I can drop goodies inside so they con't get damaged (and I'm not holding some dorky advertisement bag)... or keep food stuffs.

The box is a good idea. I tried boxes but couldn't find right size, I didnt like the styrofoam idea after all, so I put a set of bdu's inside. If anyone sees anything it's just camo fabric. But I got my ruck all fixed up a while ago with the black vacuum hose and put wooden toggles/frogs on all four strap connection points.

I put a pillow in my alice pack, and sometimes put my change of clothes in there. Keep it light. Wink

A pillow... brilliant!

And a set of clean socks and drawers is never a bad idea for those long days.

At the con I did last weekend I stuffed my belt pouches with socks and the smaller ones raisin boxes. I like the pillow idea!

So apparently Marcus and Sarah conspired Sunday at PCC to say they want to do ERT stuff (or maybe just Endor Leia in Sarah's case) sometime soon...
