Good to know, thank you steering me clear of them, i had looked at some of thier stuff before.

I actually sent a message to custom props about some stuff as it seems some prices are a lil different between thier home page and ebay. so well see...also... JFYI...they (custom props) are offering 25% off thier stuff right now threw Dec if you register on thier site...just in case anyone was thinking of making a purchase soon. Mr. Green

I believe if you message them on ebay, they will give you a discount as a RL member.

Man...i need to stay off here, lol...already thinking of 2 or 3 other costumes i'd like to do...here, and another 3 or so on the dark side Shocked And i havent even completed my first yet...

as far as x-wings, i know you guys said youve pretty much got that costume down, but i was wondering what the consensus is on what to buy and what to make. it looks like pretty much all the "soft" parts are pretty availible...and to one who's not so niffty with needle and thread...did you guys mostly purchase everything, or is alot of the stuff fairly easy to make?

just curious...seeing as everything i want to make needs the boots i wont have until feb. Crying or Very sad

I make a lot of the soft parts for folks here...
I make them free of charge...as long as my supplies hold out...
I ordered a bunch of stuff at the onset of our X-Wing project...but some of the supplies are running low...

I can make
the ejection harness
belt (without buckle) with mini flares
and the leg flare holder

flares and mini flares are nothing but dowel rod cut to length, sanded, rounded at the ends and then painted.

That would be incredible Mr. Green
Once again i'm amazed at the amount of work and time everyone spends to not only help each other, but also all the endeavors to help the community. Thats just another reason im so excited about becoming a part of this...(not to mention dressing up as the coolest characters in the galaxy to get the ooos and ahhhs from the wee ones Very Happy )

I would happily restore your reserves of mats if i could get a set of the nessecary pieces. it seems the flares i could do on my own.

then i would just need coveralls, vest, chest box, comm pad, helmet...oh crap, lol still alot id need, LOL

Just let me know what you need, and also, i found the link both here and on RL forums of a supplier of buckles...its said you'd need to order 20, but i'd be willing to order the 20 for mine and to donate to the outlaws in progress program for future pilots needs Mr. Green

I can get you the code cylinders.
its just some bolts, nuts, and washers.. I grind them down to look like the cylinders.

the catch is...
you have to start gathering your pieces first..

I have made pieces for people who never finished their costumes...
so..
when you start gathering the items you will need..
post here..
and I will then start getting some measurements..

And..
in reality..
there are some things I can't make until you get your pieces..

for example..
I would not be able to do a adequate job on the leg flare holder until you purchase boots..

Wink

Thanks for the info Crix,

darthhair was one that Mr B was gonna refer as well as driodwelder.

After exchanging a few emails, I just sent payment off for my very own chest box to driodwelder Mr. Green

Droidwelder even went so far as to giving me like 4 different areas i could choose options on my boxes configuration. I'll post some picks once i get it. He's going to set it up as i asked, then shoot me a pic before he finishes to ensure its the layout i want.

Another piece to the puzzle down X-Wing 2

When you get your flak vest and your flightsuit....I can begin to make your ejection harness and belt...

so...

when they arrive...
put them on...and take a waist measurement with the flightsuit on....
I will need that....
For the ejection harness I can get by with your height...and your overall body size....(as in are you very thin.....or pretty normal...or heavy) as the ejection harness will have some built in adjustment to it...

What I will also probably have to do is have you mail me your flak vest so that I can hide the velcro for the ejection harness in the back of the vest...unless the vest comes with velcro on the inside....
or maybe Custom Props put velcro on the flightsuit for the ejection harness?

Im probably just going to get my belt from Mr B, its not much difference between buying the buckle, and just getting the entire belt with buckle Mr. Green

Also bought my dowel rods for the flares, now just have to figure a way to paint in the snow... Shocked
