Ok, it looks really green in that picture. *tears hair out* jeez I am NEVER going to get this color exactly right. I did do some test swatches with the vinyl dye that I need to post and see how they look in pictures. I'll be able to try the vest on for the first time tonight. Razz

Thanks Rachel for posting the photo. I think it's the best look at the colors and textures I've gotten.

Looks like a fun zoo event. I also like the zoo event(s) here locally because they're at night and the lightsabers look AWESOME.

Very nice!

Did you end up just using the green, or did you alter the color?

Thank you all! I am so excited to be an official member and am already thinking about more costumes. Smile

I did use the green, mostly based on pictures of Captain Typho who wore the same costume (except for looser pants Shocked and a simpler belt buckle). When doing the test swatches for the vinyl paint I discovered that I couldn't really blend the colors like I had hoped, so it was going to have to be blue, green, or gray and not a combination of them all which would have been the ideal. Obviously I feel like green was the best option available to me, but I was willing to choose another color for the vest if the judges had deemed the green to be incorrect. Smile

Question: Do you think these pants would work for this costume?

(This was one of those "came across it while looking at other stuff" finds; I planned on making the pants when the time came, but was curious if these would work.)

As long as that waistband is hidden, yes, I think they would be fine. Smile

Your costume turned out great! I can only imagine how much time it takes to do your hair each time. Well done!

Great costumes!
Does anybody have any idea to what kind of fabric I can use for the pants?
I've always wanted to use something like neoprene, because I think that would look most accurate, but the problem is to find the right color. Anyway, any kind of stretch fabric that would work, I would be very happy for any suggestions Smile
I know the requirement says red/orange-ish, but I don't know what would look best. The pictures in "dressing a galaxy", versus in the movie, and pictures online have so many different colors, and I don't know what to choose.
