As of today, Aayla is complete!
This must be the first year I've ever had a new costume finished with a week to spare before the event... usually it's last-minute late-night sewing the night before Geddon Razz
Because of the work load last semester I completely ran out of time to cast my sculpt (it's all ready to go now though!) and fell back on plan B - using a pair of lekku from Twilek Pam. They were a birthday gift from Dean, and they're so purty. I'm really happy with how they look and I'm really glad to have them Smile
I will still cast my sculpt, no way that's going to waste!

Painting took about 4-ish hours with stipple-sponges. Will definitely be using brushes and will have an extra helper with painting for Geddon!

Without further ado:

Pam's work is incredible. Seriously. Her skills at creating with casting latex and sculpting to begin with are brilliant. She has a huge post on her forums about the progress it took to get to where she is now. A few years of work with all those materials certainly paid off Smile And I love how she has posted about the issues she has had. I can't tell you the number of Asari pulls I have as seconds... Could mean an Asari invasion at Armageddon one year though...

Awesome work Peter Smile Having seen the leather work in person it really is a nice and clean and crisp creation Smile Hope to see the full costume in person Smile

Wish I could join in the lekku celebrations but my Shaak Ti headpiece now belongs to a really great woman in the states. She has photos in her facebook fage though if anyone knows her Wink Sadly she couldn't get photos at D*C so hopefully soon Smile

And now I must go and finish a non RL costume but all kinds of Star Warsy goodness. She Vizla debuts in t minus two days. Heck.

I'll always admire someone with the commitment to paint themselves blue for the cause Smile

Wow that Han looks awesome! Great job!

And as for Alaya, I don't think I could ever sit/stand still for 4 hours to be painted blue! But the costume looks fantastic!

Well done Kristy with your new Jedi.

Congratulations to Neimhalle for her formally approved Mara Jade (just in time for the Scout troop!)
