I bought the Hammond boxes and from what I can tell in the photo the ones you found look very similar. They have a similar finish, corners and shape.

Your large boxes look great, I hope to see a set in person soon.

It looks like your boxes have pretty rough edges on them in the pics. Will the finished product be the same? If not, I'm most likely in for a set.

Those rough edges your speaking of are actually accurate to the ones Chewie wore.... just so you know.

Had not realized. From the reference pics I had seen they looked filed smooth. Like below.

Actually, I just went back through all of my reference photos and I didn't see rough edges on any of the boxes. Do you have some showing them? Maybe I'm not explaining it right. This is what I'm talking about:

Nothing a few passes with a file can't fix. I was just inquiring because if the edges are going to be left rough, I would just want mine unassembled. Even if the real ones were jagged like that, I would still probably file mine down. I can totally see hair getting snagged in that.

Yeah, this was a mock up set which I used a band saw to cut the profile. The new boxes will not have these rough saw cuts, they will be smooth. Thanks for pointing that out, I forgot to mention it before.

Ok, I think we are talking about different edges. Smile

Your talking about the lid where I was talking about the box itself. More directly I was talking about the edges that are pressed... some people do not realize that the box itself is not a box that is sealed (IE... it wont hold liquid).

I figured that was the case. I wasn't being clear enough.
