We'll my boots are pretty tight but if they do end up riding up on me I'll put some in, easy Smile.

Quick update:

I've done a bit of work on the shirt. I just need to take it in a bit in a few places and hem it all but that's about it.:

Might be the light, but isn't that shirt too white?
Cut looks good, though.

Oh yeah, I meant to post that up, it looks a lot whiter because of the camera flash, its more of an off-white/natural colour fabric.

Well I've moved onto the last piece of the costume I need to do (For this version anyway! Razz) which is of course, the vest!

I've cut out the main pieces using parts of the Falcon Jacket pattern from Dawn Anderson Designs, obviously leaving out the sleeves, collar and only really using a few of the pockets provided.
I'm sure I'll make an ESB and ROTJ Han eventually which is when this pattern will really show its value.

So the front and back pices are all sewn to their respective yolk pieces with some topstitching done over the yolk seams and I've also added the top left pocket and started on the bottom right one which came straight off the pattern. The rest I've had to draft up myself and would just like to get some feedback on the size, shape and placement of them before I cut the fabric and sew them on.

So here's a pic of the vest with some paper mockups of the half moon pocket and the extra large one on the bottom left side:

I think it's looking pretty right so far but would just like any other opinions from anyone just in case I've missed something or done something wrong?

The back:

I've put together a mock up of one of the back 'loops' and also I've laid out the pattern piece for the back pocket which I'm yet to cut out. It's placed on the fold of the fabric when cut so its double the width but hopefully when all of the loops are cut out and folded they should line up with the back pocket.

Again, if a fresh set of eyes notices anything wrong please chime in, any and all constructive critisism is welcome.

Also note that all the paper mockups have had the edges folded over to check seam allowances so the pieces shown in the pics are what the final size will be.

EDIT: Watched the scenes with Han on Blu-Ray pausing whenever I got a good view of any of the pockets and have made a few adjustments like widening or shortening a few pockets so I'm just about to start cutting fabric.

I got a little more sewing done last night, most of the pockets are pretty much done apart from a final bit of top stitching on the bottom front pocket flaps.
You'll notice I've also altered the size and shape of my pockets too as mentioned in my last couple of posts after a little more research and blu-ray watching. Wink

So here's where the front pieces are at now:

I've also finished the back pocket and the loops are all folded, pressed and pinned on ready for sewing, just making a few last minute adjustments to get them as perfect as possible:

I'll try and get the front and back pieces sewn together today and get the lining started as well so I should have this all done in the next day or too

I'm hoping for approval photos to be in some time on the weekend if all goes according to plan.
Very Happy

Costume approved!

Out of all my costumes so far I think this one has been the most fun to make, it turned out so good!

I think once I get around to doing a proper gun belt I'll whip up a ceremonial Shirt and Yavin Medal and get the Classic ANH and Ceremonial versions of the costumes completed then move on to the other movies Very Happy.

I think I've got the bug for making Han costumes now haha Razz
