After putting this off for a while, I've finally launched into it...this will be a budget build, so it won't be completely screen accurate probably, but it should certainly pass the 'cursory glance' test.

First up, the holster...all I've done so far is water shape the leather to fit the blaster and leave it to harden overnight, then added the leg strap and fasteners. I'm hoping to cut my own buckles, possibly out of styrene (Since I only have a very light plastic blaster) with the option of replacing them with metal ones later.

You'll also notice that the leather looks a little rough in patches...this is because a) It was cheaper that way, and b) I'm quite happy with the weathered look. More to come soon!

Made another one for my daughter for her xwing pilot costume. Ironically, I'm happier with the stitching on hers than I am on mine. Smile

Finished the mini holster!

K for Keira and a lightsaber peg because she'll eventually want a lightsaber.

An update! Finally got my buckles on, hand cut out of leftover aluminum from R2D2 skins (seemed appropriate)

And from the back...not exactly pretty, but seems to be working. Stuck together with good old araldite, and the holster is held on with picture hangers.

The dye colour is Mahogany, but on reflection I wish I'd chosen something a little more chestnut. Next, the tool pockets!

It looks pretty good, but I have to wonder how well, and for how long, those picture hangers are going to hold up.

Well, they seem pretty solid at the moment...I've tried tugging on them pretty hard, and theres absolutely no movement. If I was making it for one of those heavy MR blasters it might be a concern, but my blaster is just one of the cheap and very light Hasbro ones, so I think it should be ok.

Over all you really have a nice looking rig... and if the hangers go bad I have the feeling by then you will have even better ideas on how to make it better. Version 2.0 if you will! Smile

Small update!

This is just a bottlecap from one of my daughters bubble mixtures, with the little plastic piece that comes stuck in the muzzle of the hasbro blaster (Which easily pops out) . It was an exact fit on the bottlecap, not even a fraction of a mm out.

Some things are just meant to be Smile Overall cost, a little bit of silver spray paint.
