I agree, those look awesome! Great job and definitely better than I could hope to do on my own.

Awesome, congrats!

For those of you who made the battle costume from the pattern: I know that the pattern isn't 100% accurate. If I could ask, what were the main changes that had to be made? I was able to grab one off of ebay for cheap.

I have to say, that after seeing the shin guards that Marc made in person, they look outstanding! Very accurate to the original prop! Very Happy I highly recommend them!

I just got the whole shebang in from Marc: Spats, Belt, Arm Band etc...

All I can say is WOW! This stuff is TOP NOTCH and totally worth the coin. Marc did an amazing job on it, and my girlfriend is over the moon! I'd recommend EVERYONE get out there and get his stuff!

After seeing and reading this thread, I too have decided to buy my wife the shinguards for her Padme outfit. SHHHH, I'm giving them to her for her birthday in a couple of weeks!

Now, here is my little attempt at making her costume a bit more accurate: homemade armbands!

They are made with aluminum flashing handcut. I think the corners are a bit too rounded, but that can fixed on the next try...they attach with a velcro closure in the back and can be adjustable from around 8" to 11."

I agree, the corners do look a little too round. Be sure though, with making them out of alu flashing, that you don't get the edges too sharp. I'd hate for her costume (or her! Shocked ) to get cut because of the armbands. Crying or Very sad

Time to step this up a notch! I'm completely unsatisfied with pouch options out there so I'm taking matters into my own hands. Even though I offer a tricked out Rubies set up, the pouches are still off on the size so I'm going to make my own.

I just sculpted the first one in less than hour out of clay as a test. I will tackle the other two when I have more time. The plan is to get them sculpted, make a mold, and make them in HD foam. I'm hesitant to use rubber since they would be pretty heavy. I'm planning on making the large/tall pouch functional to hold some stuff.

I highly recommend making the pouch(es) functional. It is a VERY handy thing to have at least one you can actually use. Money, keys, Advil...gotta have them handy!

I'll see what I can do. At the very least, I should be able to make the large pouch functional since it's pretty big. The other two just won't have enough material (depth) to make much of a pouch by the time I get them cast. The screen used pouches appear to be very rigid and non-functional, so this is a bit hard to tackle to find middle ground w/o sacrificing detail.
