Ok, so my roommate has a Chewie costume but we have no Han Solo in the base. So, my thought was to at least get her some kind of smuggler to play with at troops since I don't troop a lot with my Boushh.

I have the jacket and I'm painting the back now.
I have sky blue gloves.
The pants are on order and should be here this week.
I have a resin DL-44 I need to put together
I have some black boots I can wear
I have the belt and some pouches on order.

Now, for some questions....

What kind of long sleeve plain white shirt do you all use? Is there one out there that is preferred or more easily found?

The sleeve lacing on the jacket ... what color is it and does it have to be a lot? I can't tell from the pics i've seend

How wide did you make the black stripes on the side of the pants? what did you use.

thanks!
Regina

Hi,
I have finished my Mirax this winter so I have it quite fresh in my memory.

I used white shirt I found at home and then bought one more basic white long sleeved in New Yorker here in Prague...

The sleeve lacing I used is the black leather lace but the color is different on the pictures so it was a personal preference decision.
it is black here:

For the stripes I used black velvet trim around 3,5cm wide:

Thank you Sooo much!

I, myself want to use black lacking so it blends easier and looks like it's supposed to be there as opposed to something akin to shoe-laces just tacked on to a jacket for asthetics in a comic.

Thanks for the striping info as well, I was thinking about that width, perhaps a bit smaller. I just got the pants yesterday so I'll see which one looks better.

Just an update on my progress in case anyone cared.

Well, all I need now is the holster/belt and I should be good to go. I put together the ESB DL-44 so I'm good on that, the jacket is painted and the pants are striped now as well.

YAY!

I've also pieced out what may eventually become the Hat. I think I have something that might work together, it all depends on how nitpicky it needs to be since I believe in function over form when it comes to costume pieces - if I can't use it why make it? Just to hold it on my hip and look good?

I'm interested in your progress! I've been considering doing this as well since Chad has a Corran Horn green x-wing costume sorta lol

So I'm interested in anything you want to share Smile

Why thank you Crystal!

This is actually a relatively easy costume to do and a lot less parts than most. The only problem that has been pointed out to me is that "No one is going to know who you are asside from people at a convention maybe."

Yeah, probably, but I have one of those already and it can still be fun. And besides, it's mostly so that when my roommate as Chewbacca comes out to play we can have a smuggler since we don't have a Han Solo in the Base.
