Just did the first test fit... still have the top detail on the overlay to work on. I'm also going to paint them with some vinyl spray (on order) since the off white vinyl isn't dark enough.

I am probably going to pick up some thinner leather for the straps as well so they lay down a bit better.

She hunted them down on Ebay last Summer (we shelved the project for few months). They are cheapo man made boots from China and the tag says W. D Collections. We cut the forefoot strap off btw.

Also, I started poking around for leather options and it looks like Timberland has a pretty good match for the lower boot and sole.

They would all need to be painted with leather spray, but I'm sure the screen used ones were as well. Do an amazon search for "timberland pull on boots"

Those boots look almost exactly what my arena padme boots looked like before i started modifying them! I got mine off ebay as well, and yes they are vinyl and cheap, and I will eventually need a different option.
The tread on the boot is excellent and really matches Padme's boot tread for this costume very well in my opinion.
Thank you again for posted all of this, and keep us posted on your progress!

That is the best Padme I have ever seen! If you ever wanted to start selling those pieces, i am sure there is a demand. (I'd buy them!)

Thanks for the kudos! We decided to do a shake down troop on Saturday and everything worked great! The belt and boot/shins color has me second guessing myself now. In natural light, they look pretty close to the on screen color, but inside with a flash, they look too light. I think I may just go a shade darker instead of two. Thoughts?

That's me in the Kashyyyk Trooper armor behind her btw Very Happy

That looks awesome. Yeah if you are thinking about selling the pieces for the boots I would be interested.

I think the color of the belt and shin guards is passable, but if it will bother you, go ahead with the shade darker.

Update... I picked up more leather and am doing another build. I also found a nice big piece of upholstery leather to cover the shins and use for the overlay. I'm going to be using much thinner straps than what I have pictured in the WIP and will provide photos as the new build progresses.

I would like to offer these in various stages depending on your needs.. IE:

Just the shin guard uncovered
shin guard covered
covered guard with overlay
I could even do just the cut leather pieces that you would glue together, soak, and curve.

If you are interested, send me a PM for ball park prices and to get on the list. Money is not collected until the item is complete.
