Hello all!

Well, things here in the Mountain Base certainly are moving along, eh? We have some new patches and just had a spiffly photoshoot, we have St. Patricks Day Parade coming up in a short bit of time ...

Now we come to the subject of Starfest ...

Julie and I have been talking with Scott, the CO of the Mountain Garrison about the possibility of having a DUAL Rebel Legion/501st Dinner. We think it would be a great idea since there are so many dual members now. They would say some things, give out their "Golden Snowie" and we would say some things and give our award ... "THE BUNS OF STEEL"

Smile Hehe I giggle every time I say it and see the award Smile

So, Now it comes down to the brass tacks of the thing and the reason for this post ... So, what do YOU all think about it? Would you attend? If it was decided by vote in both the 501st and RL that it will need to be seperate, we would have a dinner on Saturday night as well & probably about the same time. Would you still attend?

I will leave this up for a while so please think on this. Once we have a Yes/No, from both groups we will let you know and go from there.

I have the same poll up over on the MG boards, so we can see what the collective wants!!!

Also, if the decision goes with separate dinners, are we up for a combined mixer afterwords?

I personally think that this is a great idea, and I support it 100%. Cool

I like the combo route. My vote: to have both groups in one dinner. But can we pick someplace other than Garcias? I keep getting sick every time I eat there...

I thank you all for your votes in thread but if you all would please vote in the voting area as well so there isn't any confusion I would very much appreciate it. I don't want to accidentally either miss someone's vote or double count someone since I can't see who voted or how.

@Lynelle - Garcia's is not my call, that is something you'll need to take up with Scott since it is the closets place with enough room for a dinner that doesn't cost a fortune and we can walk to.

Yes, absolutely do a joint-dinner. I think there are only a handful of RL who are not 501st, and the number of 501st going RL is increasing all the time. It just makes sense to do a common dinner.

I didn't vote, since I'm not a member yet, but if I were, I would vote yes! If I manage to get an approved costume done by then, as a newbie member I would look forward to meeting everyone, the more the merrier Smile

Plus... I could never turn down food Smile

Since the question of the RMFF & the Mando Mercs was brought up on the Mountain Garrison side, I thought I would post my response here as well...

You all know what I think since it was my idea to do this, so I just wanted to give my $.02 worth on the question of the Mercs & RMFF. I cannot speak for Scott, but here are my feelings ...

No. Not at this time unless they are a member of the RL or 501st. Since this is a first go at seeing if there is any interest in doing a joint dinner we only want to do the two groups at this time. And, it's best to just take it slowly - baby steps. We need to see how this one goes first - or if the majority even WANTS to have a joint dinner based on the voting. Scott, Julie and I all know that there will probably be people on both sides that do not want to participate if the other is there, that is their right, but we thought that this would be a great way for our groups to get together for an extended time other than a troop.

I have to say yes to this, 'cause I would only want to eat dinner ONCE that night, and how would I be able to turn one group down for the other? NOT gonna happen! I'm really looking forward to this and Starfest! Razz

Also, keep in mind that this is still not confirmed for any kind of dual Legion Dinner.

If the votes turn around (for some unknown reason) and it is voted down then we will be doing something seperate from the 501st. Julie and I of course would be doing the Rebel side of things and not attend the Garrison dinner.

Thank you everyone for your votes. Once we know what is the final word on the MG side & plans are officially able to be shared - I will post in a different thread.

Again, thank you.

This Thread is now officially locked.
